I may have brought this up before, but I'm slightly disconcerted by the discrepancy between my understanding of our rules and the near-constant swearing that goes on in Teamspeak. I'm bothered by the swearing, of course, but I'm more bothered because we do have rules against it and they are not enforced at all. Having rules that aren't enforced looks bad and is really confusing for new people/visitors.
Can we clear this up? Either by getting rid of the no swearing rules or getting rid of the swearing, but either way removing that inconsistency between the rules and the behaviour of our clan xD

i apologize for my cursing in TS, i was aware of the rules against swearing in bbf servers but was unaware of a rule against it in team speak. If there is such a rule i will of course abide by it.

I fall into this as well - my apologies - I am working on this aspect of myself, but often fall back into it. However, you are correct, there are rules against this in TS and I should be doing more to enforce them.
We will most definately make an effort to eliminate this behavior starting now. Thank you for calling us out on it! |

GC and above are the ones who should be enforcing this rule. Now I know that from time to time you will get upset and it will sleep out and for the most past I am good with this, but there are some ways to keep this from happing like using the push to talk key. If you say it in your house or in your room were only you can hear it then who can complain your parents if you live with them?
The fact is that we are here for playing and having fun with people from all over, some do it and some do not. So the best thing is not to do it. Again a little from time to time I will let slide but every other word and if I hear the F Bomb then I will kick you from TS and ever GC should be the same way. I will give you one warning but after that you will get kicked not banned but kicked, if it keeps going then a ban may come. The fact is that we have younger people and females here so we should respect them like we would anyone. And if I can go without saying it then anyone can. Well put!
As I said, I'm a work in progress - God aint finished with me yet! TS will just be a tool for me to not do it as much and to help remind others not to, as well - thanks, Dr.! |

I can't swear. Too many kids around the house. I've noticed a lot of it, I wish we can all turn it down a notch.

This notice of the overexcessive swearing in our Teamspeak 3 server needs to be actively enforced, which all of us will work on continuously in the future.
But, on a side note, this is from my own experience in this criteria of communications over the web. (This is just for those who feel violated or anything that makes you uncomfortable from another player/member on the Teamspeak 3 server): If you feel as if you are not getting along with another member on our TS3 Public Server, please contact/consult your Officers of the clan or GC and above for your division. In all respect, try to stay away from this person until either a compromise has been constructed by a superior, or until both sides of the conflict can come to a complete stop of aggression and once again, what we all want from this great 11-rolling-years clan of ours, to unite a friendship again. If you believe an issue has to be taken care of under a state of emergency (as stated before, do NOT repetitively move/kick the opposing individual(s) out of your channel), then you have the absolute right to either come to any officers that are currently available on TS3 when you are in it. There are other ways to contact an officer, via Steam, PM on the Forum, Cell Phone (if you get that in-depth ), etc. Anyways, that was just something I wanted to put out there, along with this problem of swearing on our TS3 Voice Server.

While Dr. Death is correct in stating GC's and above will enforce the rules, EVERYONE needs to be on top of this! We are ALL here to help ensure members are representing BBF well.
So, while GC's and above can take action such as issuing warnings, suspensions, etc., we are all responsible for speaking up when members are not following rules. Say something, but don't go overboard....if you kindly ask someone and remind them about the rule and they talk back, or cause trouble, submit it to your GC immediately. We will make sure that member knows they are not to break any further rules in BBF, including General Order 2 - General Order 2: All members of the online community are to be treated with respect and dignity. |

# Members are to conduct themselves maturely and follow the General Orders.
# NO harassment, disrespect or inappropriate language when communicating with BBF members or other gamers. This means you should treat BBF members and other gamers with respect at all times! This includes in game chat, Instant Messaging, Email, Forums, Xbox Live, etc. Swearing is inappropriate language, further if you have a problem with someone's swearin, tell them, if they refuse to listen they are breaking the GO 2 which is to respect everyone in the online community. if it continues beyond that, contact an officer immediately so the member can be dealt with. Person i don't care what words you use to illiterate yourself but i do respect others wishes to not have to hear certain words of our language. Joined BBF October 31st 2004 ![]() I had over four hundred posts from my iPhone on the old forums, I posted while living out of my van, what's your excuse for not posting? |
