First off, future proofing longer then about 4-5 years is essentially impossible, unless you plan on using the same rig from Ultra today, until the become literally unplayable on low in X amount of years. If you want to have high-max graphics you'll have to upgrade certain parts of your rig eventually. Especially with the looming of 4K gaming etc. a 770 will be an obselete card for Max preformance gaming in 4-5 years for sure. It'll run BF4 on Ultra @ 1080p @ ~80-80FPS right now, when you think about it, it's one of the biggest AAA all platform titles right now, if you go back to AAA titles from 2008 (5 years ago) that ran on all platforms one of the most graphically intensive games was Dead Space 1, or Mass Effect 1, in ME1 you could run it on high with a 8800 GT. But a 8800 GT can only run BF4 on low at like 1440x900 resolution, an 8800 GT was a fairly high level card back in the day, and 5 years in the future it won't run AAA games at all essentially.

Future proofing that far ahead isn't really possible. You'll have to upgrade down the line somewhere. Also, building a PC isn't hard, and doesn't take THAT much time, I've built 5 PCs, and the last one took me around 2 hours to do. So if you get half an hour of free time every day you can have it built in a week tops! Just watch a few instructional video's. It's literally as easy as lego, but for adults.

This build has a MUCH better GPU, the CPU you had in that last build you don't need for gaming at all a normal i7 is all you need, RAM is the same, PSU is a bit better in terms of power usage, the monitor is better, the sound card is the same, I added an SSD so you'll have a much FASTER boot time and faster run time on main programs you install to it with a 2TB external Drive. Mouse and KB are all suggestive, so whatever you want you should fill those gaps with. This PC will be much better for gaming then the cyberpowerPC one for the exact same price, or less.

They are near me and for my last rig I priced out if would be a better deal to have them build it or build it myself. It was cheaper to build it myself and I was able to get better parts. I wanted to know all of the parts that were going into the rig and that would have cost me more to determine the ram, CPU and video card. That said, I have a few friends that buy all of their rigs from them and they swear by them and their support they get from the company.

I'm probably going to build it myself using the suggestions everyone has given.

Hey Ari, it is plug-n-play these days. The hardest thing is getting the OS installed and that is not that hard. Read a few posts around the internet on how to do it. Also google your MOB and set-up and see how someone else did it. I learned when I was setting up a raid the process to install the raid that save me hours of trouble. I would not set-up a raid...

Also, if you are using an SSD as your OS drive, read the instructions on how to install it before assembly. Follow that step by step. Saved me a ton of hassle and saved my arse.
