Steam powered games do you need to install Steam on the SSD and it will install every game on your SSD.

Yes mugger steam needs to be installed on the sSD to run the games but an SSD is really only good for half of the total space. Once you fill half it looses trim support or something and slows down that’s why it’s a tad pointless to run steam on an SSD considering the amount of space you get and ther cost of the ssd.

SSD is amazing on OS
you will benifit every single bit from SSD
but
Steam
you will still benifit from it and trim support is improved from first Gen SSDs
so you shouldnt feel too much of speed loss when it is almost full (probably 1 to 2 second longer to load depands on games).

since ssd price is still quite high,
there are 2 recomandations i can make for u .

30~60g ssd for OS

or

60~over g ssd for steam only
(if you have too many games for steam, you can alwasy back it up using steam backup tool and just have currently playing game on ssd)

you can't really say Steam games dont benifit from SSD
because if you are running a game where you have Big maps
your loading time will decrease significantly.
to make it clear, depands on games and depands on how much data game has to load to start the game

I put a new SSD on my new rig a year ago. I put a 160Gb intel drive and it is solid and makes a difference for every game that needs maps or data from the drive. I have Steam on the SSD and playing COD I can tell a big difference from the get go.

In MP I am the first in. You still have to wait for others to load but this gives me a little more time to get the beer and cut the lemon too.

I'm waiting until they are even faster (and cheaper). They still don't take full advantage of SATA III

I just put a SATA II in for now and called it good. I guess a RAID stripped mirror would be nice too, but can you do RAID with SSD's? Now that might be quite awesome!
