These tests are heavily criticized for their value because the test doesn't produce the same results reliably. Historically, I have been an INTP but taking this one it says ENTJ. Did I change or is this a variation because of the phrasing and interpretation of the question? If I took a different instance of this test, there is a decent chance I would get a third result. Considered pseudoscience by most.

With that said, it can be fun and interesting on a superficial level.

I definitely agree with you Jester that they're not reliable enough to take very seriously - especially since I've received 7 of the possible 16 results in the past year and a half. They are fun and sometimes the results can be handy for understanding yourself or someone else better.

Just remember, EVERY type of survey including the census, has a margin or error to it. Not every result will be what the person wants or the test itself will have various flaws in them. From an experienced point of view, people usually get different answers due to the way a question is asked. Tests like these focus only on the black and white areas and tend to leave out the various shades of grey. The best example I can give are race selections, not everyone is 100% the race in the selection, people can either choose to follow "the one drop rule" (look it, it's too lengthy to explain), or the majority percent, and then there's people like the Philippinos who consider themselves something else (Asian) and will say that they are asian before saying Philippino.

But back to the topic on hand

Kitteh, I'm sure you got the bizarre results by taking different tests instead of the same one over again. If you did take the same test over and over again then I do not know how to explain that lol.

I've taken the same test many times, as well as different ones. I love to do this kind of stuff, so sometimes when I'm bored I'll do one - usually one I've done several times before.

I believe my results come from my having an extremely variable personality. I will answer one thing and an hour later answer the opposite and believe both are true at the time of answering. In addition to that, I might interpret a question a certain way one time and another way a different time, resulting in different answers. Most people I know of who have taken one of these tests more than once get pretty consistent results - just not me :D
