In all honesty the thought that eventually (~6 billion years) the sun will explode, and then subsequently implode, leaving no doubt to the fact that all life on earth will come to an end, makes me want to quit life.

the possibility that humans will make it off this planet (and hopefully to an equally habitable one) is a small beam of hope.

but even if humanity survives the destruction of the earthen solar system, the thought still frightens me to tears some nights.

hopelessness and all that.

I am a wuss :P
