I would have agreed with you a year ago but with how well planet side 2 has improved in 1 year, clearly the people in charge now have gotten thing organized
and their new cross game subscription fee(all their f2p games have premium subscription) but it now spans all their f2p games so 15$ a month covers like 8 games atm and even more later

and eqn will be f2p it is not like it will cost anything to try

I caved and purchased the Alpha access pack. The Alpha Landmark starts tonight. You can still purchase a founder's pack now and have access. I'll let you know how it is because O'll be playing it this whole weekend.

I played most of yesterday till servers went down, and had SO much fun. but sounds like they had a number of memory leaks that crashed servers and caused others as well so it will problems be back up later today.

What I have been able to play has been fun, however, not really being able to build anything due to tools not working properly and constantly jumping/falling every time I load a new area has been turning me off.

So I was reading a bit about the alpha, and I'm saying there doing some ballsy rip offs here. Anyone who buys the regular alpha access doesn't get into the beta early, you have to buy some special like $100 thing to get into the beta early. That's cray.

All those packages include beta access. The $100 option just provides early access to the closed beta in order to get a head start.

Being someone in alpha, there will be resets when it goes into beta it is mostly doing the early stress test, and input on current features

Currently, Alpha access is for Landmark which is virtually the same game, just with different features that are being used to create the actual Ever Quest Next game. As for character resets, there is definitely going to be one between Landmark Alpha and Beta. I do not think there will be wipes from beta to release, but I'm not quite sure.
