The rumor on the forums is that the Beta has been delayed due to the developers [attempting] to fix several exploits. A patch is rumored to be out for Alpha users later this evening that will open up more [not all] of the map, and add a few other things into game play. EDIT: It is also rumored that those who have Beta keys that were scheduled to work with the 31st Beta release will be able to use their keys starting today for the Alpha. But, I for one am NOT handing out any keys until more content is released: ie. more areas of the map, vehicles, the ability to rent/host servers and strongholds, the option to play with friends, etc. These things were all promised with the Beta, so I say we wait until Beta. I do not want our clan-mates judging a game they can only play for 48 hours after the activation of their keys, and that is still lacking in many aspects. We should allow them to play a more polished version.

Having said this, I believe that "creating" or "proposing" a new branch of [BBF] should be postponed until such time that every member has a chance to test the Beta, and we see if we really want to stick with this game AFTER the Beta has been out for a time. Even if they released the option to formally name your clan today, my answer/opinion would still stay the same. We have plenty of time to register if/when we decide it is within the best interests of our clan to do so.

Again, I will not be handing out any keys until it has become clear from the devs when the Beta launch is.

Sounds like a plan. After this weekend my schedule goes back to hell, so my availability is tentative depending on the dates.

I propose holding onto keys (despite the fact others have said he wave plenty to give out to clan members twice over). My reasons for this are simple: I don't want other clan members to be turned-off of the game by playing an unpolished version. Thoughts are appreciated.

Been playing DayZ since the beginning of June. I'm very familiar with unpolished.

No sense in keeping the keys any longer. If someone wants to try it now then let them. Even though the game does have some rough spots people can still tell if they would be interested in buying and playing the game.
