I have spoken with Lue and RpG, and given the information we have gathered through YouTube videos and changelog updates for Namalsk, we have decided that rotating to this map (sooner rather than later) would give members of our clan (and server guests) a chance to expand our gameplay style.

Namalsk adds several new and challenging dimensions to traditional DayZ gamplay:

Environmental Factors
- Players must find cold weather clothing to survive portions of the map, and to survive snow storms that occur based on precipitation.
-EVR Emissions - An environmental event unique to Namalsk which requires players to either obtain a unique protective item, or to hide indoors when indicators of the event display. This event is time-based (unknown period).
-The Bloodsucker- An enemy/mob uniqe to Namalsk. Frequents military loot spawns and wreckage. Has the ability to "cloak," and is extremely resistant to damage.

Unique Loot Spawns
- Winter Ghillie Suit- Traditional Ghillie with the perks of cold weather clothing.
- Gauss Rifle/Rail Gun- A prototype weapon unique to Namalsk (Ultra Rare Spawn). Sniper capabilities with zero bullet drop, and near-zero bullet travel time. Instant kill.
- VSS Sniper and other weapons
- The ability to repair "broken" loot that can be found throughout the map. (NVG's, GPS, etc.)

Vanilla Day Z is not difficult what-so-ever for any seasoned player... I've still to this day never been mike tyson'd that I know of... If I did, I apparently didn't care enough to remember it...

The way I see it... Namalsk gives unique challenges that will test even our best, most seasoned Day Z players and make it fun again... And for those who are new, learning to survive in this environment will only increase your skills faster and to a greater level than vanilla Day Z players who only have to outrun and outsmart (not hard at all) zombies... I get bored of running through buildings and losing aggro and yawning the entire time I do it... If we stick to Chernarus, I will not be taking the game seriously to any degree and just playing a support role in administration...

Namalsk would give me something to do and I would actually want to play... By the sounds of how difficult Namalsk can be, it would definitely make it more necessary for us to work as a team rather than people like me solo-ing the entire thing... We need some more dangers to combat... something to keep everyone on their toes instead of just players... Bloodsuckers and the environment will give everyone a hard time equally... it will also take care of campers ;) ... Unless you are able to get every single piece of necessary survival gear, Namalsk is gonna kick the crap out of you... and I like that.

Not trying to sound like the bad guy but i just want to remind you that this game isn't only intended towards you however i see where you are coming from.

I really do wish we put this poll up for more than 24 hours. I am not really sure what i want i believe i played this map before but cannot remember.

After work if i can get a chance ill do a little searching and make up my mind but again to the admins of the server (i ran into this myself with Minecraft a time or two). Just because something is easy/boring to you doesn't mean it isn't for someone else.

I have been Mike Tyson a few times and wondering WTF but not that often. I wish i could be as seasoned as you guys and could find a vehicle and a kick *** weapon within 5 mins but i can hardly find an AK-74U let alone a vehicle on my own so there does need to be a happy medium for new, semi-new, and seasoned players.

I personally dont like the "invisible" part of the bloodsuckers, dayz zombies are buggy enough withoput turning invisible added on top of the bugpile

That is a pretty good gun now. Fortunately, DayZ has taken steps in the right direction in forcing players to consider less "epic" guns as a viable means of defense.

There are a few of us who have been playing DayZ pretty steadily since it's introduction to the clan about 9 months ago. Those of us who have are struggling to find ways to keep it interesting (biplane takeoff challenge). So, environmental effects that add another layer of difficulty to the game are what appeal to us. Hopefully this isn't misconstrued as forcing members that are returning to the game to learn or die. Like Chaser said, we just need a happy medium.

I realize that... That is why there is a poll. If it was just about me, I would have changed the server long ago to everything that I wanted and never asked anyone's opinion. The fact that this is up for discussion is evidence that I do not need a reminder that this doesn't revolve around me. The fact that most posts I make gauge how everyone else in my divisions feels before I decide on something... Every change I have made to this divisions has been made by majority votes of the core players who stick with this game through thick and thin. If the votes were for chernarus, i would stick with chernarus whether I liked it or not... I have done so in the past and will continue to do so if that is what the majority votes... We have 1 vote for chernarus and 7 for namalsk... I hardly think my opinions are a minority here.



I agree... but when a poll shows that currently over 87% of the division playerbase would like a change, I have to answer that with change... Again, this isn't about me or the admins or any sole person.. This is about the divisions as a whole... That is the point of a poll... To gauge the entire division. Obviously the numbers are saying that the majority is potentially is or is going to be bored with the current game... Change can do a couple things... either get people excited, or burn out the people that aren't into it... Regardless, I don't think we are going to be any worse off than we were a month ago when we had 3 people playing.

What ever you guys do do not try and cross the bridge with the tracks on it to the south. I am currently stuck on it with a knock out timer and ever time I wake back up i get kicked for error #91.

Lue, i dont think was was 100% clear with what i was trying to say i do that often.

I am all about change when the time is right and i dont know enough about the Day Z community to speak on behalf of them all i can do is speak from my experience from running a server and from what i hear in TS.

I am heading to work now so i cannot try to correct my above statements but ill try to remember to get back with you to clear things up a little more :) .
