I tried the ranked playlist because why not and was not expecting all my custom classes to be locked...

Basically, there are some Items that are banned in Ranked. instead of just removing the banned items thy don't let you use the class AT ALL which is pretty silly. Below is a list of how the ranked system works. Stay thirsty my friends.

Yep, the class restrictions have been in place for Ranked for a couple years. This is because they have taken the cod esports rules/settings and applied it to them.
Unfortunately, no one hardly plays Ranked on PC and you can never find a game :(

I was lucky enough to find a lobby with 10 players but I was not prepared to lose all my classes :C My team got stomped..
