Shouldnt you be able to find a Serial number on the XBOX its self and find replacement parts that way?

Read the first reply carefully because i am gathering Microsoft has been a real PITA about this.

this is one thing that I found!



This is saying that if you use the board from the old drive the new drive should not have to be flashed. Is this right if I get the same drive that is in there already?

Yes in theory that looks like it will work. Most likely the issue is with the mechanical parts so that eliminates the process of checking keys and making things match up.

I do not have an XBOX so i wouldnt take my word for it lol.

Does the problem persist with different games or just that game? Does single player run just fine? Does he run it vertical or horizontal? I can go through a crap ton of trouble-shooting steps with you since I used to fix Xbox's for my friend when we were in Iraq. Shoot me a PM if you want to.

Some of those answer I do not know. I know when he tries to play multiplayer on the xbox not live it freezes when you add the 2nd person. We have loaded the game on the hard drive. We were going to link 2 Xbox's together and have 2on 1 and the other 2 on the other one. When he went to add the 2nd person on the one in question it froze every time. The was the new COD. I would have to ask him if it does it on all games. The disk that was used plays fine on other Xboxes.


And any help would be great.
