ESET NOD32 seems to be a good one for overall features. None of them are 100% effective, but it is up there with the top AV programs for protection while not using a ton of resources.

Microsoft Security Essentials is better than nothing, but I have had to remove malware from PC's running it and it also caused a BSOD when booting with one machine. Had to go into safe mode, but couldn't uninstall....had to rename some of the files so it wouldn't run, then boot normally and uninstall. Pissed me off.

I use AVG Free, Zonealarm.

So far I haven't had any errors or anything.

A lot of different of varieties, in my opinion, have their own way of protecting your computer from harmful criteria; whatever works for you, you feel confident with, you can buy it or if your not sure, just get a trial. (AVG is Free)[/align]

That's why you use MSE + MalwareBytes. Scan with MWB once a week and you're all good :)

I doubt MSE caused a BSOD :S It's so lightweight
