I just wanted to share my current project with everyone because well who here doesn't love guns?

Not to long ago I received a stripped lower receiver to an AR-15 for my birthday and since then I have been buying tools, and a few parts to begin my build.

This project will span a few months because its going to cost me close to $2,000 in parts, tools, shipping, and other random items ill need, and as most adults/parents I have other priorities aside from buying gun parts I must attend to so ill apologize in advance for the time it takes me to post updates.

If you didnt know an AR is split into two sections the upper and the lower, as i build each section ill explain more about them. As far as right now i dont plan on adding prices, vendors for specific items unless other wise requested.

[size=3:2565wdjx]The Lower[/size] The Lower is the part that is serialized and must be registered. You also must be 21 or older to purchase. The lower is the part of the weapon that will hold the trigger assembly, magazine, and stock (butt stock)


I purchased my lower parts a few weeks ago and when they arrived they were the wrong parts so I had to wait an additional two weeks but they have finally came in and ill be building the lower in a few days. (waiting on some grease to come in)

Until i can finish the lower i decided to play around a little bit with it.

I have already installed the mag release but in a few days ill be installing the trigger, trigger guard, safety selector, and bolt catch and ill add photos when i am done with those. As soon as the grease comes in ill be installing the stock and after that ill be done for a while until i can afford to spend some more cash.

Any thoughts on the color fill? My fiancee isn't totally sold on it however i think it looks pretty awesome.

Just bought a few more parts and figured i should post and share.


Since last i posted i purchased the upper receiver and a few 30 round magazines.

Don't mind the dirty house or the dirty, naked child of mine. I feel if you are going to have any weapon in your house every person within the house should know how to properly handle the weapon. Below is my 4 year old son holding the unfinished gun.

Bentley loves playing with his NERF guns and shooting each-other and since the AR is far from complete i figured what better/safer time that now to teach him about the gun and about the safety with the gun.

Some people may not agree with this however he knows he is not allowed to get it out without permission and he knows not to point it anything, and to not put his finger on the trigger. (more lessons coming soon)

I have a plastic piece that allows him to dry fire the gun and when i allow him to do that we take every precaution you would with a live firearm.

When the build is complete the weapon and ammo will be locked in a safe place.

I have more parts coming next week that will put me much closer to finishing the project but it may still be a while before its 100% done.

Almost all of my parts have came in for my AR so i decided I was going to go ahead and throw it together. Here is the final product.







Still waitinf on my Red Dot, the bolt carrier, and a little roll pin then it will be complete.
