I am at a loss for words at the moment but because BBF is my family I feel it is necessary to explain my current situation.

For those of you that don’t know my fiancée and myself breed and sell Sugar Gliders. I have been in the sugar glider community for 13 years and my fiancée has been around for about 12 years.

We meet thru Sugar Gliders and they have been a huge part of our lives for a very long time now.

Today we decided it was a good time to clean the glider room which is a huge process and takes about 2 days to finish.

We placed all of our gliders in our room and began the cleaning process removing all 23 cages and power washing them. After a few hours Lynsie checked on the gliders and they were all doing fine.

We began to bring all the cages back inside so we could put the gliders back into their homes for the night.

I left the house for a short time and received a phone call from Lynsie stating all of our Gliders have died.

I raced home to see what was going on to find about 33 adult gliders dead including all but one of their babies. We have less than 10 that were alive.

From what we can tell the gliders died from heat which we cannot explain (it was about 70F outside and the room they were in was air conditioned).

The gliders that we lost totaled on the low side $45,000. We have amassed this amount of animals over the years trading and buying. We are a very reputable breeder and our animals are always vey healthy.

We had several gliders die that have already been sold as well which equals about $3,500 that we have to pay people back.

Right now we do not know what we will be doing for the immediate future so I cannot guarantee ill be online much. I just wanted you all to know why I wont be around and possibly hard to get ahold of.

WoW chaser, so sorry to hear that....am I bad to say that I don't know what gliders are? Is it a type of dog?

I think I'm googling that right now...but regardless that is a huge financial loss to say nothing about the empathy of losing so many animals(whatever they are).

Sugar Gliders are a Marsupial from the Australia, New Guinea area. As adults their body is about the size of your palm and they have a tail that is about as long as their body.

In total we have lost 49 animals (32 adults and 17 babies). Thankfully the glider community that both myself and my fiancee have been apart of for so long is helping us by offering us joeys (babies). Many of the animals we have lost were hand raised by my fiancee and she has really been taking this entire thing very hard.

I have own two pet shops and a animal/Tropical Fish import Co. Losing living animals much less one you have loved and cared for is hard
I have also lost Fish and animals do to a number of things it is sad. So was it the heat for sure? You guys will pull thru. this, it sounds
like you have support. Give it time, you have had so much good come out of keeping them and things will get better.

What a terrible thing to happen, I'm sorry for your loss. Thankfully, the people in your professional circle are offering you some support in your time of need.
