As some of you may have heard me complaining, DeathAdder and I were banned from the COD4 server for reasons we couldn't fathom. Redbaaron put quite a lot of his time into figuring it out (and enlisted Paco's help, cheers Paco) but wasn't able to. Tonight I pestered him in TS and convinced him with visions of a busy server to try again.

After aaaages of hunting around and Googling and trying different things, we found an answer and finally Deathadder and I aren't banned any more

Turns out that different people have been using our CD key from 2008 (which was before we even purchased the game brand new) and have gotten our GUID banned from several servers. After a lot of hunting we found that out on punksbusted.com and Redbaaron was able to delete the GUID from the banned list (the full one - searching just for the last 8 didn't seem to work) and let us in

Soooooooo I just wanna say a huge thanks to Redbaaron, who was even considering reinstalling the server just to allow us two Kiwis into our COD4 server. This man deserves a milkshake! (Or other non-alcoholic beverage of choice :P )

Now I just got to find time to get in there when the rest of the world is playing.............

Yeah it was confusing because we needed your full GUID to get the problem solved, not just the last 8 digits like most websites said.
