I am downloading the tool for this and will be trying to get my pc set up as a dedicated server for L4D2.

If successful, I'll post all the info for it here.

Just one of those things I'm trying because I can host for the BBF if it works out. I may even password it just for our use.

I had one running on a separate dedicated box here at my house for a while. I have a cable connection with 3Mbit up and 20Mbit down.

It worked out ok, but it depended on who was connecting. Some of the guys further away had a bit of lag. Also, weekends can kinda suck for bandwidth simply because more people in the neighborhood can be sucking up bandwidth.

Overall, it worked out ok. We also had a great server from a host for quite a while. It was only $8/month too! So, if you get a few guys gaming often, let me know and I can try to remember what company it was....



Munkey and I have also done some of the admin stuff with L4D2. I can probably pull up some of the old configuration, but one of the server admin mods allows you to customize your admin menu to make it easier to do stuff (like kick smacktards, switch maps, etc) from in game.

We also had a stats page going for a while which would update our website as people were playing.

Yeah, if you want to use the old MOTD image, just ask me.

Yeah - this will be for us, mainly, I don't have a static IP, so I'll have to be around to hand out the IP addy.

As for those config, files, I'll take em!
