Help! AVG was created by Will

Well, my PC all of a sudden stopped updating WSE (Windows Security Essentials) out of nowhere, starting last night. Today, I looked more into it, and it wouldn't work. I have tried many uninstalls and installs, and still no fix. I decided to come back to AVG Free, which I have used for years before and never had a problem with it. With the new AVG Free 2011 Edition, I get the same protection and all that other advanced stuff.

While updating AVG Free, I actually received a notice (WSE didn't do this particular type of error msg.) that my system time was out of date. Looking at my time, I was perfect. Double-clicked, and I found that my system time was at August 11, 2063. Yes, I was pissed. "I'm coming for you baby sister!"

Well, AVG gave me all the stuff, and I did an analysis on my PC, and found a lot of Reg errors (not at the alert level, though) and other errors AVG detected. AVG then recommended me to use the AVG PC Tuneup, which is a program where it scans my whole PC looking for Reg errors, History Tracks, Junk items (Yes, you need to make sure you don't have useless folders still in your drive), and the Fragmented files. Running through this scan right now.

But the thing that caught my attention the most is that some of those ERRORS were in my STEAM folder. Those errors consisted of .english files in my Modern Warfare 2 folder/directory.

The problem is, I am worried if AVG will delete ANYTHING of my MW2 directory, thus making my game either crash/stop working. I request straight-forward answers and no side discussions, please.

Will I need to reinstall?

The problem with avg tune up is that it removes anything that isnt published within your computer. I had a few problems with the tune up program removing my cracks and trying to kill off my daz loader which i use for my win 7.

Overall, it could remove something you need for your game to run depending of what you have added and or downloaded.

On a side note, use this key to upgrade to full avg- 8MEH-RNXBD-GMYHF-BSLSR-ZK3FE-PEMBR-ACED

Make a backup of your Steam folder somewhere and then tell AVG to ignore that folder (in the new location). Then let it run on the normal folder, if it gives you an error when you start your game, restore the folder and then tell AVG NOT to look in the Steam folder.

This is your best bet, IMO, to find out if something is wrong, or if it's just giving you a false/positive.
