Good read.

I have a USB 3.0 on this PC, along with esata and firewire....none of which I actually use or need. lol

I think too much technology is simply "Let's push out the next new product so consumers can buy it" and "Oh, that one is bigger, better, and faster....I have to spend my money on it now!".

So far, the closest thing I have to use this quad core processor is BF3, which is likely due to Dice's inability to write efficient code (every BF game seems to make people upgrade). Most of us have more memory and processing power than we use during 99% of the life of our PC.

I wanted to put the $50 in to get 8GB more RAM even though I will probably never use it during the life of this PC.

It will continue...because developers will keep pushing things along, and I'll likely follow, but there are some technologies I have yet to adopt.
