SSD problem was created by [BBF]bravedivide

I have spent the day trying to get a new solid state drive added to my system. It is a 120GB SATA III (compatible with SATAII) SSD from ADATA. I have an msi NF980-G65 motherboard with a 1000W PSU. The drive will not post reliably. After some tinkering, it seems to be related tot he SATA connector on the drive. I cant seem to get the sata cable to lock into place, and have foudn that the drive will only post if I push on the (already inserted) cable in the slot on the drive during startup.

Anybody know if thats something I can fix? I sent a support ticket into ADATA, and I'm still within the Replacement RMA period at newegg, but I'd rather not RMA it if I can get a fix

Many people experience that same problem on many ssd
1. Firmware of ssd needs to be updated
2. Motherboard bios update
3. Motherboard chipset driver update
4. Using IDE mode on ur motherboard could decrease ssd performance.

Check these and still.not working ...
might want to consider rma

When I installed mine I made certain I read the directions and followed them exactly. I did and it went perfectly. I would make certain that you followed the exact instructions as written.

To ask a real stupid question -

Have you tried a different SATA Cable? There's a LOT of variety in them - some of them have really big & puffy connectors, some have very small ones. Some cables have a lot of bend/flex in them, some don't.

I've had weird experiences related to mine simply because the SATA cable was being a pest..
