Leaving the clan was created by [DC] spike jones

I have decided after the past 4 or so months that I have not liked the direction that the clan is going. After killing the mw2 and blops servers without any real discussion and stating simply as for the good of the clan as the natural progression of the clan is what turned me off. Not everyone can afford the newest coolest game, took me almost a year to go from mw2 to blops, then mw3 comes out and our server is killed and a lot of people still play it. Im also am leaving due to the lack of cohesiveness within the clan, lack of game invites, drama in TS, and the lack of recruitment and new players. I see bbf only getting more clicky and getting smaller. I do not have any problem with any said member I feel as though I am a grain of sand in a desert and not appreciated or noticed. With all that said it has been a great run and feel as though I have served amicably.

I'm sorry you feel that way Spike. Perhaps if you would have shared your feelings earlier by using the outlets available to you (private forum, HR, Questions or Comments Form, etc.) we could have discussed things before they festered to the point where you decided to leave. I do want to comment on the concerns you raised though, since they are valid points that some other members might have questions about.

After killing the mw2 and blops servers without any real discussion[/quote]This was my doing, and it was one of the first moves that I made when I became RC for the clan. There were several reasons why the games were dropped, these are just a few.
  • Black Ops was without leadership for months, and the MW2 staff was transferring to MW3.
  • Neither title had activity on the forums.
  • Neither title had activity in their teamspeak channel.
  • Black Ops had only 2 members post to roll call in December, and MW2 was shedding roll call numbers rather than gaining, going from 15 to 12 to 9 in a period of three months.
  • Both games were no longer the flagship title in their respective series.

Transitioning games to just for fun status is never easy, but it is natural for titles to move down as newer games come out and our membership moves on to different games. Clan leadership bases its decisions on which titles to support on the feedback that is received from members via the roll call, which is why it is important for all members to hit roll call every month if they are active in the clan. Just because a title moves down to just for fun doesn't mean that other members still don't play it either. There can still be gatherings and games. The clan still offers a dedicated teamspeak channel for both titles as well as a dedicated forum for each of them. Members are welcome to utilize those to plan gaming sessions.

I can comment on this as well since I handle the numbers for the clan directly. The clan is actually growing overall. Individual game titles can and do fluctuate in numbers month to month, so I'll just list totals for the clan for November through January since I won't have the February number total until the 15th or so. I also don't have numbers for anything prior to November since I only needed to review this data starting from the date I took over as RC.
November 2011 - Total (unique) Active Clan Members: 59 (previous month not tallied)
December 2011 - Total (unique) Active Clan Members: 62 (+3 from last roll call)
January 2012 - Total (unique) Active Clan Members: 78 (+16 from last roll call)

Again Spike, I'm sorry you didn't bring up your concerns earlier. Communication can go a long way and the clan offers many different outlets for members to discuss the clan and their future with it. It is sad to see you go and I wish you the best in your future with your new clan.

I also would like to comment on this. I am a relativly new member to the clan so i cant speak as to what numbers or attendance or games etc. occured in BBF before july of last year, but since i have been here i have played Mw2, Mw3, BF3, and Swtor with the clan, and as we all know the groups of people that play one game may not neccessarily play another. In my experience as i have shifted to one Genre to another i was accepted into the group with no drama, or feeling that i dont belong (one of the many reasons i enjoy this clan) So as i havnt experienced any "clickyness" i wonder what game he was playing. NEWAY great job Fish moving on.

Edit: P.S. Good luck In [DC] spike, say hi to morpheus for me.

f1shman is correct. Our clan is growing overall. Games will also come and go. We've been here for over 11 years now, so we've seen a lot.

I think we need some more active members and serious recruiting tactics for the FPS games.

Cliques have always formed in the COD games ever since I can remember (as far back as COD2). We have had numerous leaders, totally different groups of members, casual, and competitive gaming in the COD series.

This can happen in any game though.

It only turns into an issue when members fail to follow the clan charter and speak up about issues, following the chain of command as outlined in the charter.

To prevent cliques from causing issues and help a section grow, here are some tips:

1. Enforce the charter rules (especially on yourself and close friends!!!) - This is one of the worst for members as far as cliques causing issues. If a group of guys all start slacking on the same things...pretty soon they feel like everyone else is an outsider or jerk for trying to enforce rules. In reality, they make themselves outsiders in the clan. We have lost the COD section multiple times when this becomes an issue.

2. Be open to playing with anyone and everyone in the clan - Recruit, Have fun, Play Games!

3. Step up and help be a leader - Recruiting, planning practices, organizing scrims, providing documentation, etc. can really help keep a game going. The GC's and CGC's can't always do everything to keep a game going and sometimes need extra help.

I really think we can have a big MW3 section as the game is still very popular. There are plenty of gamers and clans playing the game. Why we can't get a section going, I can't say for sure, but I think we need some new blood stepping up to revive the section. I know many of the guys who play MW3, and although they like to game together, I don't think they have a clique which causes issues currently (other they they all need to recruit ;) )

Same with BF3. We should have a strong section recruiting and playing daily (no, not everyone can play every day...so we need to get some guys in who can...they fill the gaps when others aren't on to play).

Recruit, Recruit, Recruit !!! You can never have enough members for an FPS section! Plan for at least twice as many as you want to have active. :)
