There are quite a few good suggestions in the guide, but you should definitely read the comments and do a little research before following it blindly. Several of the suggestions are either unnecessary (eg. 8dot3), based on incorrect assumptions (eg. System Restore and Trim) or make changes based on acceptable tradeoffs for the author (eg. Recycle Bin). Note: The examples are just illustrations and not a conclusive list.
