Memorial Day was created by [BBF]Bobarian

Id like to thank all those vets who had fallen for our own countries and nations. They deserve the greatest of respect we can offer. They put their own lives on the line so we can live in our countries freely, without restraint and for freedom. I would like to thank all those who have fallen, those who went MIA, POW, and soldiers of past wars and the present.

Now, I would like anyone who has the time to do so, write, of you can, a story about a veteran, a fallen soldier, or a POW or MIA soldierthat you know, or it can be a relative. Tell what war they served in, which country, rank, and anything else you may or want to include. Also, include how them serving in a war changed their lives.

Let those brave men and women live in great peace for what they did that was above the call. May they prosper.

P.S. Sorry this was posted late at night. I just felt that someone should have made a post about this holiday, so I decided that I was gonna go ahead and follow through with it.

Both of my grandfathers fought in Vietnam, as well as my grandfather's uncle in Pearl Harbor.

Major respect to you Bobarian.

Don't respect me. Respect those who put their own lives in front of ours to save us. It was only out of respect that I made this thread no more.

My grandfather served as a marksman in the Korean War as a Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army. He took todo bullets to the torso, and shrapnel from a grenade went into his back, leaving scars. Today he is alive and well. He is legally blind, but not completely. His vision is like looking through a. Piece of paper with some holes in it. His hearing is okay, but I still love him, no matter what. He takes the train and walks to the Veterans Association nearly everyday, always goes to church on Sundays, and is still in shape.

Once my family went camping in the mountains. He slipped and fell in an ice cold river we were swimming in and he broke some of his ribs. But, being like himself, shook it off. He didn't want to go to the hospital and dealt with the pain like it was nothing.

I pay deep respects to my grandfather. So much that I consider him and all other vets true American Heroes.

I'd like to thank the American vets as well even though i'm from Canada. All vets share respect from me in one way or another. Tell your grandfather's - relatives, thanks from Canada.

You do realize Canada helped with D-Day, right? Rumor has it that they were the bravest soldiers on the field

My Great Grandfather, Adrian, fought in World War II, he was an Army Ranger, a sergeant I THINK...

Before the Normandy invasion, my great grandfather was one of the MANY soldiers who parachuted behind German lines in that area. Him and his men were supposed to do recon in the local villages to check German forces and sabotage what they could. When he landed behind enemy lines, a young woman came up to him and told him she was getting married and asked for his chute. He gave it to her.

This story really hits close to home though: my great grandfather was in a lunch line and he heard a noise, he paid no attention to it, when he sat down and grabbed his spoon from his pocket, he found a bullet hole in it. An enemy sniper came that close to killing my great grandfather, and if he did, my mom would have been a different person, and I would be worse off...

Anyway, much respect to the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect their countries
