New Graphics Card Help was created by [BBF]Myquistador

Hello all,

I'm currently in the market to buy a new graphics card for my dad's PC for Fathers Day. I'm curious to see what you guys look for in a graphics card (e.g. brand, GPU core speed, physical on card memory, etc). If anyone has suggestions please let me know, my budget is $100.

What kind of system are you buying for and what kind of games or applications does he want to run?[hr:16togygs][/hr:16togygs]

Radeon 6750 is probably going to be the highest end card for that price point. But if he's not really a gamer than he probably won't need anything so high end.

Thanks again Shahal, this one looks perfect. My dad doesn't play demanding games but he really enjoys everything in 3D, games and his Blu-ray movies haha.

No problem. Be advised tho this particular card requires a six pin pci express power connector. If his computer has one you'll have no issue but if it doesn't you could grab a radeon 6670 and it shouldn't need the extra power connector.

You should check to make sure your PSU has enough power to run the card too.

Generally speaking, manufacturers wouldn't put a pcie power connector on a PSU that couldn't run a mid level graphics card. If they did that would just be dumb on their part.
