First one was an x11 it was great but most places sell the x12 now. The first was eaten by either the dog or bentley I forget but so worth the price

I agree with James. You get what you pay for. I suggest save up your money and get either an Astro, Sennheiser or Steel Series headset. Stay away from Logitech and Turtle Beach.

My personal favourites are Sennheiser and nothing else. My current one was about 120 bucks and I'm using it for about 4 years or something now and during that time it survived countless drops on the floor and a 3yr old child. :D I only bought like 2 or 3 headsets in the past 10 years or something (all sennheiser), they're tough, have good sound quality and are damn comfortable to wear.

I agree with chaser on any Turtle Beach headset. I use it for Xbox and PC, and it's durable, good sound quality, long cord, and has a good mic. I've had it for 3 years now and no issues the whole time.

Really? I throw mine around, cats play with it, never had a single issue. And you already know how well it transmits my silky smooth chocolate voice... ;) I've had the x11 for about three years and it's one of the best headsets I've ever had... far better than the "better, more expensive" headsets I've bought that invariably break.

I had a pair of X11's that broke in like 3 months, a pair of X31s that broke in a year, and my current pair of X31s are broken but I bought my Trittons and my X31s just lay on the floor

About a yr ago I went back to the sound engineers for a change (Creative Labs). I asked another community member what he thought and he suggested the Creative Labs Tactical 3D Sigma's. I gotta say they are AWESOME. Virtual 7.1 surround, 50mm drivers for bass, a dongle that converts the 2x 3.5mm jacks into a USB and a VERY tough (has survived my 7 yr old several times) flat wire chord that is about 6 ft. long. Price wise you can find them on ebay brand new for under $50 these days. I wear mine for hours at a time sometimes and they never get uncomfortable :)

Here's a link to creatives site to get a better idea:

Hope it helps :) I have suggested these to 2 other people and they also have rave reviews about them :)

Here's what I can tell you from past experience's with going cheap on headsets, they won't last long. My friend has burned through 2 Razer headsets in 6 months, aand he keeps things in GOOD Shape.. better then me, I went through 3 turtle beach's in about 2 years. I've been using the same pair of Trittons AX Pros, (Retail about 200) for nearly 2 years with not a single problem, they work like a dream. Save up the extra money buy a good quality headset then you wont need to invest for 6 years! Plus if you spend the extra bucks you'll get better sound/mic quality too. My headset is true Dolby 5.1 Surrond Sound, and the mic quality is amazing or so I've been told xS

Or do what Death Suggested, cause at 15 bucks, replacing them every 6 months wouldnt even be costly.

I have had mine for about 1 1/2 years and it works great. I had another par from the same place and it lasted about the same till one of my 3 kids closed the desk draw on it and cut the wires (we have a big heavy wooden desk).

let me know lil more about your computer setup.
- soundcard? on board?
- 5.1? 7.1?
- what kind of games u play? FPS? RTS?

To blindly recomand some:

1. if u r using on board sound, you can benefit from using USB dobydigital headsets
they usually give you better sound emulation over on board

2. if u have great gaming soundcard. you should get actual multi-speaker headset that supports 5.1

3. if you have great audio (music) card. you should get high quality stereo headset. cuz they usualy have onbaord amp on the card.

let me know these and i will help u further
