What is a good antivirus? My license for Kaspersky expires within this week.

I've been using the free version of Avast and it has been working well for me. You can set it to gamer settings to avoid seeing any visual or audio notifications that it updated, and it is easy to put in an exception if you ever get a false positive from a program you know is trustworthy.

Microsoft's Security Essentials ( www.microsoft.com/security_essentials ) is decent, free and lightweight.

There are things that slip by it on occasion (which is true of all AV solutions), so I would suggest having Malwarebytes AntiMalware installed on your machine to cleanse things in safe mode that may get missed. You do not need to subscribe to Malwarebytes and can use the free one to clean.

I also do like Avast as F1shman suggested as well, but I have been using MSSE for a while now on many systems without incident.

+1 and absolutely true. There is simply no better antivirus, period. This is from a computer programmer and IT Expert who implemented it in both home environments and enterprise.

There is no other product that runs faster with a lower memory footprint and has the flawless track record for catching and stopping everything. Group this with Malwarebites for antimalware and you're safe as houses.

This is marketing material but validated by third parties and really shows in every category how much better Eset Nod32 is than everything else out there. www.eset.com/us/home/whyeset/compare/
