Job Interview Help was created by [BBF]Shahal

Hey I need some help from you guys. Especially those who are in management and possibly responsible for hiring and interviews. I'm so bad at interviews. I never know what to say. Anyone have any good tips on how I should approach this interview and good things to say?

Never tell him about your past of hardcore drugs and crime.

Lol okay okay on the more serious note, here is a link. I am obviously no employer, but hopefully these may help until more professional clanmates reply.

It's not easy, but relax and be yourself. Interviewers come into the room with the pre-notion that your going to put on a show for them, when you act as yourself they can tell and will be impressed. Be honest when they ask personal questions, once again they will expect the normal butt kissing answers and will see that you have confidence when your honest about who you are. Most of all remember this, it is harder for the interviewer than it is for you, all you have to do is sit and talk they have to figure out all the questions to ask you, make their job easier and you'll find yourself a new job. I hope the best for you and hope this helps you out a little.

Damn thought my interviewer wouldn't mind splitting a six-pack. XD

Interview went seemingly ok. I have a second interview tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Seriously, I'd be glad to help.

1) I'm very good at interviews
2) I just went through a bunch of interviews and had a ton of interest from a number of companies so it's all fresh in my head.

Feel free to PM me or find me on TS and I'll give you some tips and help you out. I'm not sure what type of work or level of work you're looking at, but interviewing is the same regardless at it's core.

1) Ask questions. Come up with some. This shows you are interested and surprisingly very few people ask questions. Even if you ask everyone the same questions, do it. "What do you see me doing in the first 30-90 days in the position" is always a very good question.

2) Never, EVER talk badly about a place you have worked or people you have worked with. This tells them that they are potentially the next person that you will do that about.

3) Never use profanity. Think of it as TeamSpeak where people actually say "cut it out". Even if they swear, it's unprofessional. They could easily be testing you to see if you'll cave in and go with it. Avoid it - high road out of it.

Step 1: Get there early and have them escort you into the interview room
Step 2: Rearrange all of the furniture before anyone gets there to show your superiority
Step 3: Hired

In all seriousness people will tell you to relax, but the best interviews I've had are when I was a little nervous. It keeps you on your toes. I've been on the other side of the table in a few interviews as well, and we really aren't expecting the interviewee to be God's gift to earth. We just want to know if the person is going to be a good match for job by feeling out their personality and skills. Always know a few of your strengths and weaknesses since that's a fairly common question, and be able to answer the question in the context of the job.

In other words Skax drowned the guy in slober and then whipped out his frontal lobes and intimidated him into 'cold water shrinkage' LMAO

In other news if you show up and find the place is NOT for you and they are wasting YOUR valuable time... Train wreck it. Crack a beer and a smoke. Demean the position if you choose... I was once being interviewed for a low I.Q. job with some punk belittling me and my potential position the first half hour, cutting me off and being really rude. Putting my replies down regardless of my take and being a little jerk like some CA people we both know. The kid (20ish maybe) was reading from a list of questions and asked me 'How many times have your altercations with other employees ended up in fisticuffs?' so I jumped up outta my chair, put both hands on his desk and answered "ALL OF THEM!! By the way, kid..." As I grabbed my leather jacket. "You said the employee parking is out back, right?" He paled and replied 'Uh.. yeah' "Ok... See you there..." and stormed out.

(I waited for an hour in the parking area then left, just to make my point.)

On a truly serious note cuz you're a clan mate and a IRL friend, I'll relate what I looked for in my decade of retail Jewelry Management. MOST people doing the interview have barely had time to really prepare themselves (if they're a hard worker) and really don't interview anyone much. If you're dealing with HR person then yes, make a little interview. In any case, consider this as you begin because anything that makes them at ease makes YOU look perfect for the spot. Skax took off the strain of his interviewer and showed him why Skax should be hired. That is the best approach. Also, someone said 'Formulate your own questions.' and while this sounds great it's potentially disastrous. Why? Make their interview awkward and put them on the spot by being too aggressive or too deep of technical questions and you'll look like someone that causes too much trouble or is just a pain in the coco demir. lol Don't let that stop you though, just keep it very simple but direct. Remember, this isn't a ONE WAY INTERVIEW. Create your own simple interview for them and more often than not it shows you are serious. I always based hires off of seriousness/professionalism/skill/ability to adapt and learn. Remember, if you have the interview you already have a foot in the door and they want YOU. It's only a matter of 'Will this person fit and excell or will they be a troll and screw up my setting here.'

Best of luck to you bro
