Okay so I know this may be a long shot but i'm getting desperate. Has anyone here heard of the linkbucks url redirect virus? my flatmates and I have been trying to get rid of this thing for almost a month now. Its not a regular virus and i'm really not keen on the idea of a complete OS reinstall. If anyone has heard of this and knows how to fix it id really appreciate your help.

As for all you lovely gentlemen out there who will give me a list of instructions on what to try, if you are going to tell me to try running Anti-malware, tdsskiller, superadblocker.com, ESET NOD32, any form of system scan don't bother :/ I swear we have tried everything and this thing just wont die. spent mega bucks trying to get it fixed too and the guys we payed are officially stumped and if we take it in again they will just think we keep going to bad websites which we aren't. this thing just installs and wont die.

Anyways if you haven't heard of it don't worry. i'm doing my research and hopefully I will find a solution. Fingers crossed one of you wonderful human beings knows what's up XD

Before I carry on about that virus: I would (if I was your pal) get Kaspersky Internet Security. It does cost some money, but it is well worth it and not that much. I've been with AV software ranging from free to few hundred dollars, and nothing compares to this. Its like any program, some will say it rocks, some say it sucks. It varies for everybody I suppose. I've never ever had an issue since I've had it for the last few years.

Anyhow, I did a bit of research for you on how to fix it (I am no wizard when it comes to viruses), so hopefully it works:
