I'm choosing answer C: None of the above

The system I'm really looking at is NVIDIA's project SHIELD that is coming out sometime this summer (last time I checked)

SHIELD is a hand held controller with (I believe it is) detachable screen that allows the controller to be attached to a TV. Steam is said to be supported on it. I don't know the specs on it yet but I like steam and I'm not a big AAA studio online game player so I don't really care about the online support.

My ONLY complaint is that the controller looks massive, bigger and bulkier than the first generation original Xbox controller... So I'm gonna wait a couple years for NVIDIA to streamline it and work out the kinks

That Nividia thing looks like its belongs in the 80s. The specs are crappy and it's last gen tech.

The true way to get next gen is to get a beastly gaming PC. Even these new consoles aren't using up to date tech. It's said the the gpu in the Xbox one is comparable to an AMD 7790. The good thing that new consoles bring is better ports to PC and considering these new machines are very similar to PC we should see alot better quality ports aswell!

With that said I will buy a PS4 as a gamer. Its the more powerful of the two and seems to be focused on gaming rather than trying to take over your living room!

Who needs cable tv integration when you have Internet access xD. Oh and what person will truly sit there and say Xbox channel 525 for more than a week, the fun of it will wear of quickly considering its easier to just press 3 buttons.
