As many people have probably noticed by now, when killing mobs that are spawned by a spawner, the player who killed the mob gets nothing. No XP, drops, or money. What this thread is for is to see how many people would like mob spawners from dungeons to actually be of use. If you would like them to be of use please say so.

My opinion is that the mobs slain drop items and their XP as normal, but no money is received. (to prevent people from getting very wealthy very fast.

meh.... i do think that it does help the stores out. so no i don't think they should drop xp, or drops. although i do think that artificial spawn rooms should be aloud again.

This is stupid. Why turn off spawners? It's not like mobs give you much money anyway. Once stores come out, Ill just sell a my already nuclear stockpile of lapis, redstone, iron, and gold which only took me 10 minutes to mine...

Now I'm not saying we should make artificial spawners, but atleast let people get XP from spawners... this is ridiculous.

People can kill the end dragon a few times a day, granting people unfathomable amounts of XP. And it's not that hard either. Are you worried about people trying to sell flesh and bones/arrows at the market? Easy solution, don't let people sell them, or even at that, not for very much.

Spawn camping has always een turned off ever since we added the EcoCreature plugin however we add a radius around spawners that radius i just checked was 320 (oops) i am setting it to about 30 which should help out a lot.

Vundorn go try to gill the ED alone we made him much harder to kill and you are awarded by the amount of damage you do to the ED. If yu or anyone else finds him to easy to kill we can beast mode him a few more notches.

I agree with c5, spawners should drop items and xp normally but have little to no money given, that seems like a fair trade-of, definitely better than what its like now.

I personally see the spawners being turned off as an excellent door opening for player shops, enchanted equipment will now actually be difficult to obtain, and can be sold to other players whereas before EVERY town had a spawner and the market was dead, the same goes for arrows, bones, string etc these markets are actually open for enterprising fletchers/mob hunters, as for straight money dropping off mobs this is basically money laundering.

Pro's
-Market Opportunities
-no luck based infinite wealth
-less incentive for people to find ways to afk and spawn massive #'s of mobs

Con's
-Work harder for items
-Enchanted equipment has a price that warrants it's stats
-people who find a spawner may be confused/dissapointed.

Ways we can fix this are as follows
-Increase the Drops of future dungeons (idk if we can do this)
-Rebalance the drops from spawned mobs to be severly limited

Note that both of these solutions will likely delay the release of the market.

If having people afk out is one if the main issues, implement an idle limit. If someone has not moved in the last 3+ minutes, the server kicks them, causing the mobs to despawn.

The issue arose from people camping spawners so we made a radius limit.

There are ways to beat this and still get points from mobs that come from spawners it takes a little time and some creative thinking.

What the radius limit means is you must be at least 30 blocks from the spawner before claiming XP or drops so think about it how can you accomplish this?

It really isn't that difficult and the system can be beat.
