I think that I may have one problem with your thoughts on engaging/farming. the enemy. they are going to press their 5 v 4 advantage while you're away farming. it's not like they don't know where you are.

I've seen that before too, where enemy teams try to push an advantage, but here's the kicker, if they do, turret fights basically even the odds, and your AD Carry can get to the fight from any lane (unless it's a top push and he's bot) in under 10 seconds. If the situation calls for it, you haul ass and get into the fight to lay waste to people.

What happens a lot, however, is the enemy team is forming up near a turret and the 4-some initiate instead of just waiting for the enemy to initiate. This is a horrendous mistake.

... Overly critical? I reread your post. I don't see anything critical at all. A counter opinion, perhaps, but not critical.

Which actually brings up a good point. LoL is, at it's core, a competitive game. People vary in skill levels and beliefs on how to play the game. Everyone defaults to thinking their way is the only right way. That would be wrong. Period. There are THOUSANDS of ways to play and my way is not the only way, nor is it probably the best way. It's certainly not the best way for someone who plays completely differently. It's just the best way for me and potentially a good lesson for someone who doesn't have as much experience as me. I researched tons and tons and tons of ways to play and then made my own. Then played and did badly, then made adjustments, etc. LoL has a MASSIVE learning curve and I'm still learning every time I play.

That right there was the reason I quit AD carry, I used to farm alot trying to get my build to par vs the Enemy AD carry, but the team would push before I was ready and got harassed after they all went down.

If you are out solo farming with a team fight imminent, you are putting a huge burden on the rest of the team. Sure it's great to get that extra gold and boost your DPS, but if it costs the team a turret or causes us to lose even one team mate after laning is over then that farm wasn't worth it.

I agree and that's why map awareness and control are so important. When I'm off farming, if the enemy team is coming for me, I bail and head home. If they are coming for my team, I beeline to the fight. If you can solo farm, it's great, but not at the expense of losing the game potentially.

My argument and main complaint is when my team knows I'm off farming, but choose to engage a fight away from the turret, or some other poor decision. That's what chaps my hide.

I agree with ruff, however being a support myself it depends on the point in the game and also the support you are playing. For example, i main soraka quite a bit and if you front line her early game where their ad carry/supp can get to her she will be rolled like no other and bot lane will be lost right there. I recently had a game where i was soraka and they had a blitz and i moved to harass their carry and moved in just the wrong spot and the blitz capitalized and killed me within seconds. Now, i also play ali/blitz who are tankyish and can front line such as ruff has stated.

i guess all I am really trying to say is know who you are playing and who you are laning against and you will do fine
