I think Fallujah already has proven for me that more zombies does not mean harder, just means giant lag spikes when the game tries to render more zombies all at once than it can handle. It still became the same drill for me... run around buildings.. run through buildings... lose zombies... rinse and repeat. When you are able to lose zombies by sitting in a pine tree, suddenly all fear of zombies is gone.

I think zombies should be many and more dangerous in big cities where the loot is greater... risk reward analysis required by all...

Out in the forest/rural areas, there should still be moderate loot such as shotguns and pistols and food (raiding homes for canned goods, etc) and with less dangerous zombies... there should be few enough so that small towns and villages can be cleared by a COMPETENT survivor... I say this because the average player or less than average survivor should find it difficult to play the game... and seasoned veterans should find it difficult to play the game in most instances but be able to dispatch a good portion of zombies...

There needs to be a better ability to sneak up on zombies if the difficulty is increased... currently there is nearly no way to get up to a zombie and get a hit on them before they know you are there... it would be nice if it was possible to score headshots with melee weapons as well...

If zombies were faster than people, it would seriously increase the difficulty of the game and make it terrifying to get chased by zombies (which this game needs in my opinion)... I think if they enhance the hit zones on zombies this could work very well... have body hits do no death dealing damage, but hitting appendages can slow them down... if all you have is a baseball bat, you should be able to hit a homerun on their kneecap and break a leg or femur and send them crawling and allow yourself to get away... so if you are unfortunate enough to get into a horde.. just start swinging and hope you bust em up...

Im more along the lines of wanting games that are unforgiving if you are stupid.... in Fallout, I never ran into the deathclaw sanctuary until I had the means to kill them all... Sniping them and keeping away... just like if I was ill-equipped, I would not go running through down town zombie land for a can of beans. And if zombies are more dangerous, bandits and survivors alike will have a hell of a time not drawing aggro by shooting someone for their beans... so there would be more weighing and calculating being done inside the heads of all.

I just know that if zombies stay the same, I will never be afraid of them and therefore most people wont be afraid of them, and therefore will practically ignore the fact they are even there except as a indicator that survivors are around for them to shoot at.... rather than thinking "oh god oh god oh god oh god *snaps a twig under foot*... *poop large brick*"

I also think that military compounds should have heavier duty zombies guarding military gear... with headshots only, you would have to nail them in the face or pierce their helmets with a high enough caliber round that defeats it... it should be difficult to loot military compounds and the zombies should be many as well... loot should be dependent on the zombie type as well... would be nice to see military zombies dropping whatever weapon they may have been using... maybe a few military issue side arms and magazines... a little bit more than a tin can for taking them down.

I would also like to see realistic loot tables for the type of buildings... I'm tired of seeing enfields and pistols inside of school buildings and grocery stores or some cafe.... I think loot should not be laying on the ground, either... I guess I miss fallout/skyrim style of looting.. I miss containers. I would like to see gun cabinets spawn inside of residential and sometimes be locked (as they would be usually)... There should be gun racks at military compounds (like the ones seen in the tents by balota... why cant we loot those?)...

There should be arty boxes full of different explosives.... There should be giant super markets (walmarts for all us dirty americans) that have sections... food where it makes sense to find it.. on shelves, etc... and different kinds of foods other than canned foods that vary on how much health you recover from them and how much they satisfy your hunger.. a bag of Doritos should hardly do anything except keep hunger pains away for another 30 minutes... Eating a full meal should be better than a snack... You could have the sports section to get yourself a baseball bat or a bicycle or a skateboard... you could hit up the guns area for low grade hunting rifles and side arms...

Go to Cabelas to get ammo and camo and guns and animal calls to lure in all those curious survivors.

You should also have to go to the bathroom and if you get sick from eating bad food you have to take extra stops.

Slow zombies just won't work because of the masses that you would need to keep the difficulty level. Fallujah had a lot of zombies, but in order to make zombies an actual threat you would need massive amounts around every corner so that you can't just run past them.

The only way to balance zombie difficulty and keep them "slower" than us is to make them hit harder or infect you if they get a hit on you.

Just like in the Walking Dead, if you are bit or scratched, you are a ticking time bomb before you are a dead man and a zombie as well. The zombies are slower than them in the walking dead, but they also do not fatigue where as a living human does... If there was a way to "sprint" for a certain amount of time in Day Z it could work... stamina should be determined by how well fed and hydrated you are... as well as how much you are carrying.. I think you should be able to run as fast as your body will allow you, but once you grow tired, you are done and then zombies will be able to catch you... That way sprinting should be used effectively and logically... You can outrun zombies, but only for a limited time, so use it wisely and get to safety or shelter before you grow tired- because once you do, zombies will bite your ass.

Going along with the "what you are carrying" argument for stamina... I think the gear menu should be changed to a weight limit rather than a slot limit... It's halfway implemented at the moment with big LMG magazines taking up more slots... but I think limiting which slots things can go into is poorly done... I should be able to carry more than one pistol if I have the means (not in my backpack)... Size and weight should play a role in what you can do.. you shouldn't be able to fit an engine block in your backpack or an AS50... its physically impossible to do so...

Again- im more along the lines of wanting realism in my games than convenience... i'm the minority and I don't expect to see any of the changes I like put into standalone... and I will still play even if they are not because I still enjoy the game even tho its not exactly how I would do things...

I think to carry car parts you need to use both hands and physically carry them to the vehicle, or load them into a vehicle before you can do anything else... you should be able to hit a quick key to drop whatever you are carrying and pull out a firearm in case you need to... this would make repairing vehicles a real chore and a rewarding endeavor if you were able to finish one...

I would just like to see everything be much harder to acquire... then things become a status symbol in a wasteland world... a guy rolling around in a pimped out SUV is probably a badass... not just some punk ass who happened to find one spawned in cherno fully repaired and full of gas...

Guys rolling around in a helicopter would probably be scary then since you know it took a good team of survivors/bandits to get that sumbich goin.

I just want to feel like a scrub when I spawn in for a change rather than having no worries in the world anymore... I died last night and I didn't even give a crap cause I knew i'de get heli'd back to my body in 10 minutes.... Yeah i still have fun and i still play, but god, I would LOVE to be back in the position I was when i had no idea what i was doing... My first time playing Day Z, I spawned in on the shore... had no idea about gamma settings and I wandered into the woods trying to get out from the open (i watched youtube videos prior saying to stay away from the cities)...

So here i am wandering in pitch black darkness in the woods.... i cant figure out how to use my flashlight so im stumbling into trees and feeling incredibly vulnerable... then I see this object in front of me that looks like a monster... wtf is that?.... Its not moving.... looks like a bear or something.... im trying and trying to get my flashlight to work... I finally do and I shine my light on the object to see that it is a wild boar... I was startled for a moment but noticed it wasn't moving still so i carried on... I wandered around a good long while before I ever found anything... the first thing being a hatchet... and that was empowering in itself!...

My first encounter with a survivor... he had a double barrel shot gun and I had a hatchet... i was teamed up with this girl I was playing with and she had a crossbow... we said "don't shoot! we are friendlies!" in direct voip and soon after he shot at my friend with that double barrel... i flanked around with my hatchet and broke is leg and murdered his arse with it... I felt like I really committed murder even tho it was self defense... I looted his shotgun and felt like I just got baptized by the wasteland and became a full fledged wastelander warlord with that thing... Now we all run over top of those guns like they are crap biscuits nobody wants to eat.

I miss low crawling past zombies because I was terrified of them and didn't know I could hide in a pine tree and be safe as can be.

I also would like to see the ability to fire from vehicles with whatever weapon you have equipped... Firing from PBX, helicopter, cars, trucks, etc... How long you think it would take for someone to get a huey and post a as50 sniper up in it? :P

I like being able to hide in a pine tree. There is no climb tree command so I just visualize that is what is actually happening. It is realistic to believe that your character could climb a tree to avoid getting slaughtered. It would be nice if the visual meter reflected your level of concealment.

I would be okay with trying to climb trees to avoid zombies, but I think if you run up a tree without enough ammo to kill them all you should be screwed- as I don't think zombies would fall asleep waiting for you to come down, nor would they have anything better to do other than wait for you to fall out of it or starve/freeze/dehydrate to death and become their meal. Currently, though... zombies are able to climb ladders so I would think they could climb a tree.. but who knows. If zombies were unable to climb effectively, ladder or otherwise.. this could be a means to escape hords... zombies should be able to use stairs, but maybe not ladders... so climbing could be a way to survive in the city and lose line of sight and escape out a back route..
