Near food/water sources are a bad thing. We have done those before and always got discovered. The tents are fine, they blend in with the shadows/environment. I would be more worried about the solid bright colored vehicles.

In the forest northwest of Zelenogorsk would be a good spot for a camp. You have the store within easy walking distance and several fuel tanks as well. Perhaps another base could be set up in the Polana area so that we have a eastern camp. Once the server becomes more active I will be making a small camp somewhere between Electro and Churno so that I can supply myself with food when I go bambie hunting. Also this thread should be moved to the members only section of the DayZ forums.

I do hope you all realize that planning out your camp locations in a public forum can/will result in them being found... I frankly never rely on camps or saving my gear, and the camps I have set up are merely for storage of junkI do not want and think that others might use one day... I personally live on a day by day basis on Day Z and never get too attached to what I have these days... It's fine if you want to play a pack rat in Day Z, but I don't recommend openly discussing their locations if you do... I'm pretty sure this forum is public still and outright saying locations can be read by any visitor to the site... our site is in the server name and MOTD when they log onto the server... anyone can visit us here from our server and see where you guys have set up base...

If you do not care, cool... but im guessing by what you all have said, you somewhat care about staying hidden... I would edit your posts if you want it to remain so (or at least remain so longer than outright telling people where to look).

This thread was never established with the intention of discussing base locations or private data... I will not be moving it, as it is informative to people to find our server (namely our own members). I suggest if anyone has posted locations of camps or vehicles, they should edit their own post and start their own thread in the private forum for that topic... This is part of thinking before posting. Yeah that may make me a dick, but theres a private forum for that reason... and this thread was not meant to be a discussion on secret base locations, vehicles, etc...

Would it be possible to check the logs for the server and see if a chopper has spawned? I know we have had issues with vehicles not spawning correctly in the past.
