Here is a video of what they are working on for their servers.



To me it looks like what I feel DayZ should have looked like from the beginning. Here is some of the stuff they have done and stuff they are working on.

Already Implemented Features:
  • Gutting Humans: Functional (Risk of Infection and Minor Blood Loss)
  • Clothing Removal: Functional
  • JSRS Sound Mod: Functional, Implemented on US, AU Whitelist, soon to come to Publics.
  • DayZ Factions Server (Open and running on US side, Au version under discussion)
  • Blackhawks
  • Halo Jumps
  • Scavenging Parts from Vehicles

  • Breaking Point fog in night cycles: tested and will be rolled out on all servers

  • Balota Buddies Launcher To Replace Commander: Under construction will automatically install all addons when loading into server.
  • ACRE: Will allow players to communicate via radios and offer immersion.

  • High Tier Bandit Skin: Players within the top 10 lowest humanity on each server will get the old bandit skin.

  • Shack Tactical Movement: Provides user with fluid movement
  • ShackTactical Little Bird gunfire from the side
  • More variety of vehicles and vehicle skins

Wow. Nice vid.

Just as a note, I think the smoke was awesome but a little over-used. The zombies walked like they were on moving platforms, sort of too fast for the speed of their walking motions, but the horde concept is always rather scary.

The dog at about 4 1/2 min in scared the hell out of me when it barked. Lol! I also appreciate the extra sound effects... like new zombie sounds and atmosphere. Not to mention the other little things, like the radio and shooting through glas.

I couldn't tell, but did they mod the zombies so that they don't zig and zag like obnoxious blitz-monsters? If so, that'd be awesome, because there's no real reason for them to dart about while running at prey... they would/should go straight for you.

It is things like that that should be in DayZ. Little creepy things that make you jump. I am tracking the progress from their website and once they are done I will post info and maybe some of us can go check it out. They do require that people use their TS while on their server and also that you get white listed. It is a lot of hoops to jump through but to me it is worth it.
