Is this division on its last limbs? I hardly play Day Z now, not sure about the rest here. I think we should decide pretty soon if we should drop this in JFF because I know that pretty much 0 recruitment is going on in this division, not down to any of us in here but to the reason that we are playing different games waiting for standalone to release.

This division has been so quiet the last few months I think we have come to the point of saying yes we will support this and really make an effort to bring in new members and get this division how it was or let it go in the just for fun and put our efforts into the standalone when that releases.

I think Day Z the mod is becoming stale, all the mods of this mod are proof of this to me. I have lost the thrill and enjoyment I first had when playing. I'm not sure whether its because I have played pretty much all the mods and maps available and its just becoming repetitive or whether its the actual genre of game that im loosing interest in.

What is everyone's opinions?

No sense in recruiting new members till the stand alone at least has a launch date. I don't think it really matters if the division goes into the JFF section. Seeing as how the division is called Arma 2 DayZ it will be replaced by the SA anyways so it will more then likely wind up in the JFF area. If I had to make a guess based on what I have read the SA should be coming out in the next month or so. I would look for it end of June beginning of July.

Isn't the lead developer (rocket) away for the next 2 months? I'd assume they'll wait to release till he's back atleast

I know he was on a trip to Everest a month or so ago so he should be getting back soon. Also they have stated that the only thing keeping them from launching was server side stuff to prevent cheating/hacking.

To answer the original post question: It seems the numbers are showing that there is a decline in interest in the game. It would be less complicated to just drop the game as a supported game and when standalone comes out, and people get interested again, shoot for supported status at that time... as said, this division is for Arma 2 Day Z mod, anyway... it will need to be changed regardless if we stay supported when standalone comes out...

If anyone disagrees, feel free to speak up... I just think the trouble of keeping this game supported is not worth it at this time... we've tried everything we can think of and have exhausted our options... recruitment just is not happening, even when we were hardcore about it... its one of those games that has a niche and not everyones cup of tea... a hard game to get people for.

I know this is slightly irrelevant/off topic (sorry about that :P ) But i'd love to join when the standalone comes out, that is if it's supported i would love to get the game now but as the standalone is only 1 month ish away i don't really see the point in getting arma 2 just for dayZ :/ (and my mum said no cause moneys tight..... :/)

Lue I agree with you. I think it is time to let this division go into JFF and I am sure when Standalone arrives we will have the numbers to get it supported and restore the division like a phoenix rising from the ashes!

I dont understand why this is an issue? What is gained by moving the forum? I would understand it you were still paying for a server, but that isn't the case. This division has quite a few regulars. The only problem I see is that we dont have a goto server or a common raiding schedule. I can only solo Dayz for about 20min before I get bored and want to rambo cherno. Lue, find us a home server and area of operation!
