hate to ask, not having done 2 much landscaping, but why not cut it all up with a turf cutter (rent like 400 a day) nd lay fresh turf over the lot???, and yea good work on the con-creaturing(not to offend any concreatures out there, ya do some hard work :) ) ,how long did it take ya and how many smokes and or cartons did ya go through in the time it took u to do it :P

lol Entice I have a tiller (turf cutter) it chops the ground into nice clean dirt lol. I think you are talking about laying sod (rectangular pieces of already grown grass).

The issue with sod VS. grass seed is sod takes between 2-10 years to actually establish a good root system, so in other words in a few years you can still pull up the exact rectangles of grass you planted. Grass seed is much easier and cheaper then sod plus the root system grows right into the dirt. Another type of seeding that I have done is called hydro-seeding.

Hydro-seeding is the best way to seed in my opinion it just takes a lot of the right equipment. In hydro-seeding you have a big water tank you dump your grass seed into with some recycled mulch (like a decomposing lint) then fill with water and mix it up, once mixed up you spray it using a fire hose. The mulch sticks to the seed making a nice shell soaked with water. Hydro-seeding takes about 2 weeks for sprouts to grow.

We are still thinking about putting grass seed down if we can pay for it lol.

yer turf can be a b**** i remember having to redo the turf at the local copshop i did work at 7 times because the *insert profanity here* of police kept parking there cars on it, in the mean time just get some chickens and blame them for the dirt patches :P
