I was really hoping to enable some nice friendly URL's for our forum, where it will show the name of the topic in the link rather than a number. This makes links nicer in a couple ways. First, Google and other search engines like them much better, and second, you can actually remember a post by the name rather than trying to hunt it down.


However, it broke our main content links with the rewrite rules. I couldn't easily revert without having to just restore the whole site....something I had not done since the beginning of this year when we got the new site in place.

I take backups before I do work on the site, and luckily, it looks like everything restored properly.


So...I may just leave them as is for now, OR use the method provided by MyBB which still isn't ideal.[hr:2ljn5zzk][/hr:2ljn5zzk]
Enabled the built in MyBB SEF URLs (Search Engine Friendly).

So, you'll see now: www.clanbbf.com/thread-2436.html

Instead of: www.clanbbf.com/showthread.php?tid=2436


It's not ideal, but is a bit better. Old links 'should' still work just fine. I have to test a few things too, but I think we're set to go with this at least.

I set it back to the default, but was able to get a sitemap set up. Good stuff.
