As you should have heard by now, Steve Jobs has died. He lost his hard fought battle against pancreatic cancer. He was truly one of the greatest entrepreneurs and innovators of our time. The world we live in would not be the same without him and his company. It sucks that this happens just as I was starting to use his products. And I've grown quite fond of the Mac OS over these past couple months.

Thanks Steve Jobs for helping me become a better graphic designer.

RIP

Yeah, hopefully Apple's innovations don't end with his death...

I truly feel like I've lost a hero, and even a PC fanboy should understand his contributions, the competition between PC and Mac is one of ever growth, one becomes better and the other strives to do the same. I've also grown to become a fan of my Mac as well as my other apple devices all of which work seamlessly, I still love my PC, but the devices that Steve Jobs pioneered and strived to create truly help me manage a large part of my digital and personal life.

RIP Steve Jobs, you have my eternal respect.

My condolences to his family and friends.

But I think people have this vision of Steve Jobs actually creating these products...he hasn't been hands on in development in a meaningful way since the actual Mac. What Steve Jobs was best at was communication, and a master at connecting the sale point with the consumer.

I understand the apple brand is a juggernaut...no doubt in large part to Mr. Jobs, and in no way do I discredit his impact on technology. I am merely pointing out, that apple has a second to none devloment team, easily candidates for the best innovators in the last decade...but Steve Jobs was the face, not the hands.

The bottom line for me, I think Mr. Jobs could have been the spokeman for any product, and I would have believed in him regardless. I think his biggest gift was the ability to connect with the imagination of the consumer. I think it is safe to say apple are a safe bet for years to come, but there is no way they can replace the face of the company.

As with many, he died to soon.
