I just picked up a Design tablet for my PC. Its a WACOM CTH-480 Intuos pen & touch. I'll have to say I'm pretty impressed with it so far. Anyone else here into image design/painting/drawing?

I've used them, and they're very good at what they're for. That said, my artistic ability is all in the design of a graphic, when it comes to drawing, I'm like a fish out of water, everything is a little messy, and I die in a few minutes. But they work well! I've used plenty of Bamboo's tablets in the past.

i've got a bamboo tablet it's very rarely used, but when it is i love it. (wish i could draw lol)

Yeah I like the tablet I have now as a startup. I'll probably upgrade to something better once I get more familiar with interacting with programs on them and more comfortable with designing with a tablet.

I have the Wacom Intous 4 which is basically pen only with some shortcut keys on the side. However I'm more on the technical 3D side of design instead of 2D painting/concept art. Havent used mine in a while but I'm planning in creating another 3D piece so will be getting back into it soon.

I've actually had a Waccom Cintiq 12ux since about a month after they came out, (6-7 years ago?) not exactly sure on how long ago it was but its been a long while.

If you find the learning curve of a regular (non display type) tablet and can justify the extra cost I'd stroooongly recommend the 12ux as a start to the glory that is the cintiq line of tablets. I have worked on one of the new 21's as well and let me just say its freaking amazing, if I was able to use tablets for all of my digital art I would buy one in a heart beat.

The cintiq's really cut the learning curve down on tablets but are a tad pricey if its not a regular input device that you use. Though I must say it makes life much easier to train or teach people with little skill / natural drawing talents. Their skills will progress much faster and generally speaking the frustration levels stay a bit lower.

I've got the Intous tablet. It's pretty awesome, though it is kind of collecting dust. I've found that it is not only great for drawing, design, and art but also just for surfing the web. Some games are even playable with it (trust me, I tried). Just don't try to play a FPS with a drawing tablet... does not work!
