Back in 1984 my mom bought me a vectrex when I was 5 years old: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vectrex I know it's not a PC, but was my first video game experience. Later I had other consoles too.

For PC's:

My grandfather worked with computers in the military and I lived with my grandparents and mom much of my life, so we had a PC as far back as I can remember around age 7 or so.

Back then my grandpa wrote some simple games which fit on the 5 1/4 floppy disks. Stuff like hangman and tic tac toe. There were bulletin board as well when I was a bit older systems you could connect to with really slow dial up modems.

I remember Carmen Sandiago, Commander Keen, Kings Quest, Wolfenstein 3D, Ken's Labrinth, Doom, Jill of the Jungle, etc.

I don't remember if Wolfenstein or Ken's Labrinth was the first 3D FPS I played.....

I had a break from PC's for a while, only playing a bit of Kings Quest, but still remember when I was just out of high school and had my first 'modern' PC FPS experience:

Starsiege: Tribes

It was my first experience with online FPS multiplayer and I played 4 hours straight. It wasn't until I was married and moved up to Bellingham that I got into Tribes 2, then Battlefield 1942 (joined the clan with this game).........

Well, I'm not as old as Paco :P So my memories don't go back quite that far, but I think my first memory of gaming was playing Mixed Up Mother Goose when I was six or seven (so 97/98). It's quite possible that I played other games before that, but my memory has always been rubbish.

I also remember Carmen Sandiego, Commander Keen, Wolfenstein, Ken's Labyrinth, Doom, Jill of the Jungle, Theme Hospital, Duke Nukem (have only played the original!).

Like DeathAdder, my first online experience was Delta Force: Task Force Dagger. I can't even remember what clan we were in, but we had a lot of fun.

I find it amusing that the Sims seems to be what got a lot of people into gaming.

After raging on consoles for years I finally went over to a friends house and played Call of Duty 4 on PC for the first time. The dedicated servers made up my mine to go and buy my first computer and have rarely touch the console since. PC gaming is the best! Look forward to playing with all of you.

Dad was a gamer, big brother was a gamer, I'm a gamer.
Started playing childs' game around the age of 4-5. Then moved on to Command & Conquer by the age of six. And then forward to Red Alert. My bigbrother played alot, and so did I. We actually ended up playing with eachother on RA.

My story's pretty much the same as Musskill's but what really got me into gaming was Delta Force: Task Force Dagger, it was the first game I ever really got into playing online in, my sister (Kitteh) and I played it using the matching names SneekySnake and DeathAdder.

Ahh the Delta Force days.

Mine all started with Delta Force 1..... Went over to a friends house and he was playing it and tried it out and was hooked. After that I started my own squad with some pretty cool people that lasted through 1, 2 and Blackhawk down. Man I miss those days.
