We have owned the same TS for a long time and I am still very new to Linux so I am a little hesitant to even dare do a transfer as of now.

I do agree it does make since to pay for one all around server vs. two servers and spend the axtra money however we also need to look at it like this.

Our current TS costs only $10 per month which just about any member within the clan should be able to afford if need be while the dedicated server costs $83 a month which is a little harder to maintain.

Because our TS host shares all of their TS servers we have very limited access for example a few weeks ago it was mentioned to me to maybe have our forum ranks follow us in TS. To do this we needed to add our forum IP to the TS whitelist so when the forums sent the TS server data and vis versa the TS wouldn’t ban the forums.

The host wouldn’t let us do that because the whitelist is global.

Being able to host our TS on my server we wouldn’t have that issue. (I have already tested it)

But the fact that it costs 8x as much per month is a little harder to chew.

Another issue is that every donation goes directly to our TS host not Hisgun whereas the donations for the dedicated server go to my paypal and I pay the bills. If someone wanted to make a payment directly to our account with our host I do believe I can set that up however it is not something everyone can use. (I’ll have to look into it a little further)

Another issue is since we do not have the server files I cannot easily transfer all the data from one server to the other which means I’ll have to do everything by hand. (Unless our host will send us those files which I doubt)

Hisgun PM’d me earlier stating we now have enough to run the TS server until Feb of 2015.

I will look into hosting the TS a little more and then I can make a decision as to whether or not I want to ask the DC what they think.

Right now TS can handle 25 clients and yes with the dedicated server I can increase that number to say 50 and never increase it again and the price will not change.

We will see I have a lot of work to do on the Dedicated server the next few days and I’m sure I will install TS just to have it readily available.

How much would it cost to increase the number of players on ts? Say to 35 instead.
I don't think it will be needed since we're almost never more than 15 on the ts at the same time, but it have happend that it's been more than 25 wanting to join ts. Saying that maybe it could be worth increasing that little, it shouldnt be much more it costs, right? Just a thought ukno

What is cool about TS is that we can always change it to suit our needs. If we need to make it 35 people for another 3.50 a month then we can do so. But I think the most people I have seen on at one time is MAYBE 18-19. I see an average around 10 and it is mostly in League of Legends (join us...join us)

I dont see the point in doing a dedicated server in the situation we are in now. Just costs a lot more than I think any of us can...or want to afford. I mean 80 bucks a month to talk to Rhett? He should be paying ME :P .

10 bucks a month is totally reasonable and TS has been good to us for as long as I can remember. I am glad we are setup until Feb 2015, I might try to donate again after Christmas.

The only reason they asked about the dedicated server is because i already own one. So no since in paying 90 when we could pay 80 for just the dedicated server and we would then have more access to the TS server and more control but its still a toss up

Quick Q, so were paid until Feb 2015, now does that mean that it is locked in at 25 slots till then or can you up it at any time and pay the difference?
(Just thinking about later this year when good games start to come out and the clan activity usually increases.)

We can up it at any time however only Hisgun has access to increasing the slots
