This game is nothing but constant ridicule and negativity. There's no gratifying experience by beating your laning opponent in a 1v1, instead, you just get that "oh good, now my team won't be pissed off" feeling, especially how you're reminded of their in-game feelings whenever you get a kill by putting up with them saying "gj" or "nice", which sounds like you'd be happy to hear your team say that, but it's only just re-inforcing the "we're constantly judging your performance" atmosphere always lingering in every phase of the game, as well as the "whyd you go after him", "whyd you buy that item, that's not the usual item", they chased that enemy because they thought they could get a kill! they bought that item because they wanted that item! Mind-melting questions, i know.

They only got that kill because they didn't want to die and upset the team. It's always about the team; the constant performance you've got to give your team every time so they don't hate you or report you or insult your abilities. What kind of a game is this? Neverending judgement. I've been playing this game since november 2011, it doesn't matter how good you are; there will always be others who beat you, it doesn't matter how hard you try; you will always slip up and get tormented because of it. I could not be happier to finally lose interest in this game.
I now play almost exclusively War Thunder; the community treats other players, as well as the game, with respect, it's educational, nobody says good job when you destroy an enemy aircraft, because you destroyed that aircraft for your own gratification, not to impress your teammates. Games are also shorter and can painlessly be abandoned if you need to leave for whatever reason, since there are so many other players in the game (i think it's 16 vs 16). Hopefully Baptized by Fire gets a War Thunder division someday.

I agree with you on some things, but you also have to keep in mind that this game IS team-based. The point of LoL is to work as a team to win. The League community is pretty bad. There's no question about that, however I believe you should take all those tormenting comments with a grain of salt. You're right, there will almost always be someone better than you at League, but that's true for anything in life. All that being said, games are supposed to be fun and enjoyable. If you aren't having fun anymore, then there's no point in playing it, so I don't blame you for not wanting to play League anymore. If you are serious about War Thunder, try to get the game supported. I know there are a few other BBF members that play WarThunder. Ariakas and Reaver being the two that I know of. Sorry to hear about your experiences with LoL. It definitely is frustrating at times. I hope we still see you around BBF though!

Hey SmokedCayenne. Take it from a veteran of League to agree with you :P .

The community used to be a lot better when it was smaller, but since it has grown to what it is now it really has changed. Honestly I use the ignore/mute feature a lot more than I ever have in any game...ever. But the ignore feature is there for a reason if you need it. The community sucks and League is not a game based on being able to be a one-man carry. Most pros usually suck in solo queue compared to the pro events because they LIVE and BREATHE with the teammates they have. I mean look at TSM, they live in a house together and do almost exclusively practice League of Legends. Heck I got matched against SaintVicious (Curse gaming pro player) and he was jungle lee sin, even though he was with 3 people it was not other curse players. You could tell that he was trying and he was mechanically godlike but he made so many mistakes and died a lot (to me of course ).

I like to think of it this way. If I win my lane that is about 33% of the game, the other 67% if the teamfights and objectives. You are only going to be at most 20% of the team. The other 80% has to be doing better than the enemy team as well.

I know I am digressing a bit from your points but I felt I needed to bring those up. This game is so much more fun with friends to be honest. It makes the game much better when you are on TS/Skype cracking up with laughter because someone died screaming like a girl. This game is definitely 10000000 times better with people you know and can have fun with. I would recommend if you aren't tired of this game just playing with friends more often, that helps a lot more than you think.

Last bit before end this essay, people, including myself, tend to notice the mistakes we make rather than the accomplishments. Sort of like how we notice champion nerfs more than we notice champion buffs. I think it's because this community has set a mindset that wee notice the negative before the positive but you can only make yourself see more of the positive things that happen like, "Oh hey I just hit 80 minion kills in 10 minutes!" instead of "omg I died once and my team is reporting me for feeding."

No matter what you do though, have fun either in League, War Thunder, or both.

I really don't find the community in LoL to be so so bad. I certainly experienced alot more trolling and rudeness in both WoW and CS:S. I played both at high levels (top 200 US guild in WoW and exhibition competitions between communities in CS:S.) I think the primary difference with league and other games is that the poor sportsmanship actually effects your game. If someone is mad at you and decides to intentionally feed or afk, you loose LP, etc...

If the wow community was forced to be placed randomly with 5 people then be asked what role they want to play, the servers would rip open a space time portal that released the all hell on earth. And if CSS players had to choose what items to buy, they would all buy 6 needlessly large rods (the equivalent of an AWP).

Of course it can still be miserable. I often state that I cant even play ranked because the idea of getting through champ select gives me a headache, but it could be much, much worse.

and on the topic of "GJ"; When I gank a lane and we get a summoner or a kill out of it, I say GJ because I want them to know that I understand that it wasn't all about what I did. I want to encourage them to be happy with themselves and with the team in general. that helps everyone to have fun. and having fun leads to better performances and higher win rates, and better community.
