For the past few months we have been basically just playing normals, and it's been fun. However I have heard input from several members that there is interest in organizing a more competitive team for BBF. While BBF does NOT recruit based on skill I think that it would be healthy for the division to have a team that works to play more competitively. While I know that a team like this could create friction between members about who is better than who, I think that this division is mature enough to organize something like this, and be aware of our individual skill levels.

With that said, I would like to first, create a roster of players interested in this competitive team. Just leave your names in this thread and I will contact you individually. An "A Team" of sorts will consist of 5 people with an undecided number of substitutes. The competition captain (who has yet to be appointed) will choose the players for this team and decide when games on this team will be played.

We will probably make a secondary team for more relaxed ranked play.

We are going to put together a trial practice of sorts scheduled for this Friday starting at 6:00 PM EST. Everyone is welcome to come and skill will not be a concern for this event. Do not worry about coming a bit late, as you will be allowed to join us regardless, but trying to show up at 6 would be ideal.

The last things I want to see arise from this team are cliques and elitism. If I see behavior like this it will be addressed. This is something I will be very strict about. We will all still play together regularly that I promise. If too many issues arise I will pull the plug on this project. I really want to make this work so please be mature, and do not take it as a personal attack if you are not selected for the team.

I know that having a team that can focus on improving, and being good sports will be a lot of fun, and I really look forward to seeing where we can take this.

There are only 2 problems with maintaining a ranked team, Time zones and Dedication. Having organized practices is difficult if there are people on the team who are in different time zones and its been a problem in the past. Also, in the past a team was set and made but no one would show up to play. This ties in with time zones as well. I hope this time around competition gets more serious. I can also give advice to whoever is appointed Competition Captain (without stepping on toes of course.)

I'd love to do this, if I didn't have 200 ping, it will be impossible for me to do more serious games on the NA servers if I don't move somewhere where I got better ping.
Anyways, wish you the best luck if you create a team and if people need help in how a champ is being played, or how to counter and such, I would love to help. I am in higher divisions on the EUW and I can play the game pretty well.

Otherwise, remember to have fun, point out what people are doing wrong if you get to be the leader, make sure that there is a guy that does the shotcalling, I highly recommend the jungler since he/she can have the biggest impact on the lanes. Make sure people play champs they like and are safe on, do not force anyone to play a Ryze against a Fizz just cuz a site says thats the counter or so, if you force a person on the champ he/she won't perform at all. Just some basics for a 5v5 ranked team!

Hey guys, I would join in but

A: I would rather give newer players the opportunity to know what it is like to have a 5 man ranked team and the experience that can be :P

B: I don't think I could dedicate the time to do so, just have to see what my schedule looks like and how much work i'm going to be doing.

I don't think I would have a problem being a substitute or a backup where if you needed me and your main person is not on, I can fill all roles decently (Support is weakest for me but it is way easier if I know the person who is the AD carry)

If you have the room I wouldn't mind joining in, but please let everyone else have a chance of joining before adding me!
