I'll start off by saying I'm no challenger level player. Obviously, since Im in silver IV, eh? But, I have a wealth of experience and game knowledge that might be of some help to you newer guys. And today, I'd like to talk about Duo Q-ing for ranked!

Duoing is probably the BEST way to climb the ranked ladder. But it is also a double edged sword: When duoing, the enemy team gets made with a generally higher MMR (or another pair of duoers). What this means is that you either A) Have to use your increased communication and organization to carry, since your teammates may be facing someone of a higher skill level than them, or B) Be more efficient than your opposing duo. Obviously this is easier said than done!

The trick to doing this, in my opinion, is to both play roles you are well suited to and have meaningful interaction with each other. I prefer the following two combos:

Ad-Carry and Support: This ones a no-brainer. Being on TS with each other and (hopefully!) having a long history of bot laning together is a HUGE advantage. While two strangers might get lucky and have some good synergy, a pair that plays together all the time and knows what one another wants to do almost without voicing it is invaluable. Its no coincidence that Challenger is stuffed with ADC and Support mains.

Jungle and Mid Lane: Personally, I think this is better than ADC and support. A fed mid laner and/or jungle can constantly have an effect on the entire map. When you do this your very best option as the jungler is to camp the shit out of your duo buddy's lane. On the same token it pays, as the mid laner, to make sure your lane is gankable at most or all times. Get your buddy fed, then start roaming and winning other lanes, take objectives, cement yourselves a victory! Thats not to say that your jungler shouldn't gank other lanes...its simply saying that a gank organized from superior communication will almost always be better and easier than ganking a random. Note that mid lane is interchangeable with top...I simply feel that its more difficult to carry from the top lane.

Yeah I agree with what Bean says, duo-quing can either work out very well, or very badly...I know people ask me to to duo que but I am uncomfortable doing so because I get very...competitive when I am in ranked and I can get frustrated at myself or my team at times. I just don't want to take it out on my clan mates/friends D:

I am the same way. If I duo with someone its with someone I don't know from the clan or one of my friends.
