Well give me some good ranged units that aren't really hard to use but have similar builds that aren't really expensive to buy. I'm really bad with straight melee.

BTW what exactly classifies a champ as a carry. That's unclear to me.

Dmg done is an over inflated stat. I can farm creeps all game and do nothing for the team and have the highest dmg numbers on the team. Knowing when and where to do the dmg is the key.

Especially as the ad carry, positioning is everything, along with learning how to last hit effectively.

one thing I haven't seen mentioned yet that is the #1 skill every LoL player needs to ever compete is last hitting mobs. sivir and ashe are great for learning that. take their advice of playing bot with friend supporting you. stall enemy minions just out of range of your turret and play defensively there. focusing on getting those last hits. games are mostly won by your carries getting the gold to build what they need.
