Shahal personally, i recommend watching some live streams from some professional players. They might not take you step through step of what they're planning or doing but the point is to see how they play and learn some tricks from them, if you want a live stream to watch let me know and i'll reply with a link.

I totally agree with havOk on this one, watching videos of some of the top players (some of our members are top noctch also) is a great way of seeing a basic overlay on how to play your position in the game. I wouldn't try to mimic or analyze their playstyle yet as they are tier 1 players because of their experience and their knowledge of the field and champs.
I would recommend playing defensively in a position that doesn't require you to put a ton of effort into it like a bottom position, this will give you the oppertunity to play and get to know different champs and different strategies.
When I first started I SUCKED (played HoN first, but the same rules apply), infact I fed so bad I almost didn't play again lol

yup he's right, starting out bottom lane is the perfect way to understand the support and ad roles, it will also give you an opportunity to communicate with middle and jungle for ganking decisions. Bottom lane is a first step for all newbies coming into the game, it allows the player to freely farm and at the same time understand how each roles work.

to add to havOk's comment, you should also pick a group of champs you like and stick with it until you get better. You like ashe, so play her and other ranged ad like graves, cait, teemo (I usually play him ad), kog (also play him as ad), etc. and I can gurantee that you will see a marked improvement.
the worse thing you can do is jump around from "class" to "class" like tanks to nukers because your really not learning much, I mean you are, but not as much as if you picked a specific class and stuck with it. I started with ad ranged myself because you can hit from a distance and learning them isn't that hard because most of them use the same builds. this also helps you in the long run because you get familiar with your masteries and what runes you'll need.
I have found that the same builds you use for ranged ad also works in tandem with melee ad champ so if you get bored kiting from a distance play a melee ad champ and go from there...

yup agreed again, i'm sticking with the jungling and middle lane champions right now on my smurfing account.

I don't have too many champs to use. In terms of ad carries I've got Ashe and sivir. Don't know if any other champs I have count as ad carries. Kind of want to switch to using sivir because she does more damage but she has no slows or stuns. I don't know. Not sure what to do at this point.

you like your skill shot ranged eh? You really don't need just carries either, sticking to that limits your champ selection. There are a ton of ranged champs that can go either AP and AD (called hybrids) that aren't carries, but can carry if they snowball, Sivir is actually one of those.
