Seize Fire and In game names was created by [BBF]Chaser

After a few issues tonight i took the time to speak with Lue and Exo about a few things and here is what we have agreed apon.

Starting now 3/29/13 there will be a week long seize fire so starting next Saturday it is open season.

Even with this rule in place if you are not in TS and do not verify where you are or who you are you run the risk of being shot and killed.

Another issue we ran into is people changing their names in game. There is almost 0 reasons to change your name however if you feel it necessary do not carry over tags. What i mean by this if i were to change my name i cannot change it from [BBF]Chaser to [BBF]goofy-kid. Also if you change your name please keep them within our guidelines and do not include explicit language.

Just to add to this, because I could not find the original postings from wintermute from original day z upstart- but I updated one that was still around here:

As I spoke with Exo, I explained how the general TS portion worked in the past... We used to have nearly a dozen channels for the Day Z division... We even have squads set aside to divide up nearly 30+ members... People formed their own squads and made their own bases back then... It was common to have BBF on BBF encounters that resulted in killing clan mates... this was due to people not being able to communicate who was who in the heat of the moment.

As the numbers died, the need for multiple channels also died...

Ultimately, if you are not in a channel with the other Day Z players, you run the risk of getting engaged by them at some point and someone getting shot because, lets face it; who is going to alt tab... switch channels... or poke someone... or vice versa... when they see a player aiming at them.

If you wish to be pro-active and counter this problem while being in a different channel, we would send messages to the leader of the other channel group and let them know our locations or that we are nearby and to watch fire... We even had whisper lists set up to be able to whisper the officers of every squad back in the day to avoid friendly fire....

Ultimately, if you are in another channel, as stated many times... you are on your own, or with whoever else is in your channel.



Just as people state friendly to avoid being shot by strangers... so BBF should do to not get shot by BBF... its a pretty simple concept.
