Okay, so this is going to be a long post, but bear with me.
In the beginning, there was darkness and ELO hell for me. But out of this darkness, emerged BBF and I joined to find friends to play LoL and then later DayZ with. It was good and magical and I made several cuddle-friends. Sadly, the ranked side of things never really took off and I really didn't want to take a leadership role.
DayZ kind of changed my mind when my military background and desire to be competitive and lethal reemerged. As such, I have decided to take my leadership to LoL and start a competitive seriz-bizniz team. I want to represent BBF, so this team will not be fly-by-night.
Caveat: This is a SERIOUS team, so I apologize in advance to anyone who takes umbrage to my rules, however it is what it is and you don't have to reply. If you do want to get involved, consider the following before you reply with interest:
* Practices are MANDATORY. 3 days a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, at 5pm PST (6 MST, 7 CST, 8 EST) and will run 3 hours. Missing practice with a valid excuse is okay, of course, but short of that, you are letting 4-5 other people down if you just "don't feel like practicing". Unacceptable.
* No Chips Allowed. If you have a chip on your shoulder and think you are God's Gift to LoL, do not reply with interest unless you can shed your chip. I have over 3000 games played on a single account (I have 4 accounts), and I still make STUPID mistakes all the time. No one is perfect and I won't tolerate someone who can't take direction. The point of a team is to learn and adapt together.
* Be respectful of enemies and teammates alike. What you do in your normal games doesn't matter to me, but a team that (if the head cheeses approve) will represent BBF needs to uphold the standards of BBF. That means no disrespectful taunting of enemies or raging at teammates. Correcting teammates is fine, offering suggestions is fine, but raging is not. Playful banter with the enemy is fine as well, but calling names or being a tool is unacceptable behavior. This team will behave as professionals in any interactions with the public.
* Be efficient. During practice times, we will be playing back to back games with a short break after each game to review what went right or wrong. Some days, we will just review tapes of previous games for practice. The goal is to get as much playtime together or game critiquing as physically possible in the shortest amount of time, so take a leak before practice or be ready to hold it or whizz during champ loading. Remember, serious team is serious.
* HAVE FUN. I don't see why Serious can't be synonymous with Fun. You can still be successful while having a smile on your face. If you can't have fun and take the game too personal, this is not the team for you.
* Be okay with swearing. I cuss A LOT in private TS channels. LoL is a mature rated game, so the assumption is everyone who is playing is over 18. As such, swearing should not be an issue in our private channel. Of course, if we are in public, swearing is taboo.
If you are able and willing to make it to practices and follow the rules set forth for this specific team, go ahead and post. Our first practice will be next monday, where we'll be feeling out assignments. Remember, serious but fun team.
