I got a new keyboard a while ago and ever since that every time my game freezes I can't CTR+ALT+Delete it like I use to,to get out of the game without having to shutdown my computer. My new keyboard is a Steelseries gaming keyboard, and I now clue how to CTR+ALT+Delete it. My computer isn't a bad computer, it just freezes every once in a blue moon when I'm playing a game in beta or get normal electronic errors.
So if you guys have any idea how to CTR+ALT+Delete on my type of keyboard I would like to figure it out.

Could be a number of things, but we can start with the most likely cases. First, make sure ctrl+alt+del works under normal conditions (i.e. try it after first powering on and logging in.) If it works normally, then try and use windows+d or alt+f4 next time you experience a game freeze.

It's likely that neither of the above will work, and that's mainly because newer USB keyboards run a significantly higher IRQ than older style keyboards did (higher IRQ means lower priority). In a nutshell, that means that the OS may not really care what input it's getting from the keyboard in your scenario because it has more important things to worry about. If you have one of the old PS2 keyboards then you can try that.

The third likely case is that you have memory failure or malware. Try plugging a different USB keyboard in, and see if you can get control again after a game freeze. If not, we can maybe give you some suggestions on memory tests and virus/malware removal.

Okay well nothing has frozen yet but I have tried using a different keyboard and typing CTR+ALT+Delete and it brings up the options it should. I can also use my on screen keyboard to log into my computer.
I have also check my keyboard and have noticed there are two empty USB slots.
Should there be something there?

No, those just act as additional USB ports for your computer.

I have a windows 7 desktop.
I haven't tried going idle yet, I will next time i go idle.

What he means is does CTRL+Alt+delete work when nothing is open or you are not in a game.

There are times when mine wont work in specific games or intermittent in games (as in it works one day but not another).

The best way to tell if something is wrong is to do a control test and try while no applications are open.

I didn't see an answer in regards to having updated software. Since you are using Windows 7 go to the start menu and search for "Device Manager" once their find where it says keyboards and double click it.

A drop down should open up right click whats their and click "update driver software" windows will search for software updates.
