so there has been an increase in bans for thresh nasus and TF. and though looking at this i realize why the ban rate for TF has gone up but thresh even though if built right is an OP support nasus can be contained and controlled. riven rumble garen and teemo all counter him pretty well. but anyways what this thread is really about is how and what does anyone suggest about countering TF and what would be a counter support for thresh? and my alternative for thresh would be leo super tanky and great when built correct.

any tanky ap, diana,swain,gragas,vlad, or any ap with some form of dodge like fizz/vlad are easy wins, hell you can even just take talon and as soon as he mispicks a card he's dead, or just bait the stun dodge the Q followup and eat him, that or just sustain through his combos the real issue comes in his ganks though When the enemy team has a TF just group up with anyone nearby/play defensive when his ult is ready or just go completely crazy secure the kill and pick the WORST route possible out of there, he'll block the BEST route not the worst with his ult!

An EU team ran Fizz with Tele to completely stop TF. Because Fizz can counter him with Playful/Trickster and the Tele gives him similar map mobility as TF does, since if TF is defeated by HIS lane, he can always port to other lanes to pick up kills. With the Tele it's hard to roam as TF when your laner can push your lane/follow.

Thresh is countered/rivaled well by Blitzcrank since they both have strong engage/presence in a lane and team fights. You basically fight fire with fire against Thresh

Nasus is decent at best in the top lane, since his early game is so weak. He fits well in the jungle as seen in LCS because he can farm his Q basically for free. The counter measure to jungle Nasus is to counter jungle him a lot. He can still farm his Q, but it'll go slower.

All I know is when i'm playing support thresh I HATE seeing Sejuani, leona, blitz, and taric. -__-

Malphite -Assertive/Deterrent
Rammus -Passive/Bait
Udyr -Offensive/Deterrent
Galio -Offensive/Nullify
Xin Zhao -Offensive/Deterent


All tanky Supports fall into one of 3 positional types, and one of 3 styles generally
For Positions-Offensive counters Passive, Passive counters Assertive, and Assertive counters Offensive.
For Styles-Deterrent counters Bait, Bait counters Nullify, and Nullify counters Deterrent.

As for what classifies each style/position
Offensive-This support moves to guarantee kills primarily, or to deal damage to the enemy.
Passive-Primarily functions to secure the bushes and prioritizes style functions
Assertive-Let's their presence be known to the enemy, securing bushes without necessarily being in them and being in position for other objectives.

Nullify-Works to stop the enemy from doing anything, or to make what the enemy has done less effective.
Bait-Tries to lure/pull the enemy toward the ADC/tower in order to harass/kill them.
Deterrent-Attempts to keep the enemies at bay to stop them from engaging or CSing under threat of damage/cc.

Keep in mind that these are the Intuitive position/style for each champion and while highly effective an experienced player can purposely alter how they play to uncounterpick themselves!
