Thank you to all that have been tossing back and forth ideas to keep the division going with a server. I posted "possibly" in the donation post but I will give $10 once a provider is finally chosen.

I have narrowed my search down to 2 host providers for the moment.

  • The first of which has
    • 3GB RAM
    • 45 Player slot
    • Dedicated IP
      • makes it so you don't have to connect to your server also using a port, only your ip. This is a $2.00 USD/month charge
    • SubDomain
      • Want a {yoursubdomain}.McCraft.us:{port}? Just a $5 one time fee.
    • Unlimited Disk Space
    • Unlimited Bandwidth
    • Free MySQL DataBase
  • The Second Has
    • 3GB RAM
    • Unlimited Slots (3GB can only hold 30-40 people comfortably)
    • Dedicated IP
      • makes it so you don't have to connect to your server also using a port, only your ip. This is a $3.00 USD/month charge
    • Access to Change the Display IP (So they say)
The first host is about $28.00 USD/month but with a 10% recurring discount it will be about $20.90 USD/month
The second host is about $21.00 USD/month as well

The first host is located in Phoenix, AZ while the second host has servers located across the country (Dallas, Chicago, LA, Las Vegas)

Right now i am just trying to decide who is the best and which one we really want. I have been E-mailing each of these hosts to make sure they are what we want.

Idea for the server:

How about a Cash Shop?

If you need donations, give players something in return. A cash shop would not only help bring in money for the server, it will give the players something pretty much free in return. You could sell hard to find items or even go as far as to sell books and enchanted items.

Its just an idea, doesn't seem like many people are listening to my ideas in the private forum... so... yeah...

I just replied to your post i must of forgot about it i do alot of looking from my phone but not alot of posting and then i forget about it.

This really all depends on our host what plugins are out there now and how we have the server set up.
